This item worked as designed and competently hoisted and held the engine while an oil seal on the side of the block adjacent to the engine mount was replaced. It is heavier than it looks but when holding an engine between the two fenders, it does need to be stout.

During a timing job on our car, we were able to support most of the work with a jack under the oil pan. But when it came time to remove the oil pan completely, a support was absolutely necessary. This one really came through.It was easy to set up, easy to use, and gave us the confidence to work underneath without worrying about the engine shifting or coming down on us. For a smaller car engine, it’s more than up to the task.Would I trust it with the engine out of a full-size truck? Maybe—with heavier chains. But for compact or mid-size car work, this is an excellent piece of equipment. The only real challenge is figuring out where to store it afterward.Overall, solid build and a worthwhile purchase.

I have used this a handful of times already and it has worked great. The only issue I did have with this is the washers that come with it seem to bend fairly easy. It's not quite a safety issue but it makes it harder to keep everything lined up when they start to bend. I replaced them with thicker washers and haven't had an issue since.

Worked for me when I did the timing chain on my 2010 VW CC- I did not need the chains. It was just barely wide enough- pay attention to the 59" width, I imagine it may not be wide enough for some larger cars.

I worked under an engine supported by this bar for several hours while I was preparing the engine for removal. No worries. The feet on the ends of the bar are configurable to fit many engine openings. The engine opening on top of my Boxster does not have parallel sides and this bar fit in the drainage channels with no extra work. The chain hooks are long enough to be secure. The wings on the tightening nuts are large enough to generate torque. All pieces are solidly constructed. Not the cheapest option, but do you really want to work under the cheapest engine support bar?

Needed this to replace my oil pan on my BMW E30 and made life alot easier. It's about the same price as harbor freight and looks like the same quality.

Do not buy if you are trying to lift BMW 6cyl in a 328 chassis. It won’t lift motor high enough to replace motor mounts. It’s a great product otherwise, just didn’t work for my application
