I'm very pleased with this sturdy and economical part. The vanity in my bathroom came with a 1 1/4" steel pipe under the sink. The contractor who installed it used tape (?!) to rig the transition to the 1 1/2" drainpipe- which surprisingly held up for a few years before it started to leak. This part worked to connect the two sections securely, saving me a plumber bill. I did use a plastic slip joint which did not come with the part.

This worked perfectly to connect my 1 1/4 inch PVC drain line to the main 1 1/2 inch line under the sink. I had also planned to use PVC connections that requires cure time for the glued connections (24 hours). Then I found this. It was a much better solution. It took less time, no cure time .... I do plan to put in a new sink and countertops soon. Now that this can be easily removed, it makes it an even better choice compared to glued PVC connections. The media could not be loaded. This was easy to install and perfect to convert the poly group filter so be used with my Intex filter. No leaks and works flawlessly so far.
