Good reference book
Nice book to have on the shelf which probably has the terms you're looking for at the moment. Fun / Good for review as a thumb-thru type of book. Good compliment book for horticulture/botany library.

Clearly drawn illustrations clarify the terms
Although some people may think that, with the internet, we no longer need books, they're wrong. Sure, you can look up definitions easily for terms you don't understand. But the world is full of unknown unknowns that you'd never discover without books. This one is no exception. Randomly open it and you see "glochid." Although most of us have seen one, how many non-botanists know that term? On page 100 you not only see a glochid, but you know exactly where to find one and you appreciate the so-that's-what-those-things-are-called feeling. If you enjoyed Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever as a kid, and if you enjoy plants, then you'll enjoy this book, too.

Good for visual learners and beginners
I bought this because I was having trouble with other more detailed books on the subject. This is a simple and straightforward reference with lots of pictures illustrating what exactly is being described by the text.Couldn't be happier with it.

Brilliant botany reference book!
I don't think the average person reads through a dictionary front to back, but I did that with this book to help refresh my memory on some botanical characteristics and definitions. The pages and content are set up in a very easy to read and reference way, with simple design, and it is very appealing to read. The occasional diagrams/drawings are exceptionally helpful, the definitions are easy to understand, and it seems quite thorough. I loved this so much that I bought one for my dad to keep on hand, too. I recommend this for anyone, but ESPECIALLY an amateur botanist or anyone with casual interest in understanding plants. Keep it as a reference book if you have any other plant identification books, so that you can better understand what some of those complicated words mean!

Full of information
Diagrams help to understand a lot of it. I'm not a botanist so it was a bit much at first but I'm learning so much about plants and how they are made up!
