Excellent Caliper
This is a solid, well made, and easy to read caliper. The 1mm/revolution is exactly what I like and makes the caliper very intuitive to use. I have many digital calipers but I keep reaching for this one. No batteries to replace and no zeroing out the digital measurement constantly. Just pick it up and measure. Only drawback is that the "glass" covering the dial is actually plastic and will scratch easily. It is easy to replace though and can be found on Amazon. For the 505-732 caliper, the replacement plastic lens is Mitutoyo part# 141776.

First Rate Dial Caliper
The Mitutoyo 505-732 is beautifully made and precise. The finish is excellent. The way it fits together is perfect. One complete revolution of the dial pointer is 1mm. Most metric dial calipers are modified imperial calipers - since 1 inch = 25.4 mm they tweak the design so that 1 complete revolution is equal to 2mm. This means you may have to add 1mm to what you see on the linear scale. There is absolutely no confusion with the Mitutoyo - you look at the linear scale and add what is on the dial. The precision with which the caliper is made translates into more accurate readings. Although the Mitutoyo 505-732 costs about 4 times as much as a badly made and inaccurate look-alike caliper, it is well worth the investment. Recommended for all applications requiring consistent accuracy and longevity.

Measure twice - cut once, in this case the first measurement is correct
I'm converting my wood shop to total metric. Mitutoyo has always been a trusted brand and it shows up again in this tool. It wasn't the least expensive nor the most expensive but it is a quality tool. Metal construction, accuracy, and a just plain sexy look makes this a great buy.

Great calipers, well made, too bad they're metric.
Absolutely love Mitutoyo products. They are always high quality. These calipers are no exception. They work as advertised, are as smooth as you'd expect from Mitutoyo, and are as accurate as you'd expect. They are unfortunately metric, which frankly sucks for machining, but I needed a metric set for a specific job and these did the trick. Since Brown & Sharp no longer makes their calipers in Switzerland, all of my future caliper purchases will be Japanese made Mitutoyo's.

Excellent quality metric caliper
I've had numerous calipers over the years ranging from cheap stamped metal to digital to traditional quality analog. I love this Mitutoyo because it is very fine quality, easy to read and analog (doesn't need batteries). Also, I work in metric when I can (sometimes it's not practical, ugh), so I really like that this is a metric caliper. This was a purchase for my home shop, but I also have a larger custom furniture shop, and I'm getting a set of these for that shop, too. Finally, these are truly value for the money. There are more expensive ones out there, and definitely less expensive ones. But these hit the sweet spot for being excellent professional quality, at a reasonable cost. Very satisfied with all aspects of these calipers!

Solid deal and nice but can’t justify over cheap caliper
Good deal at $83 but can’t justify over $40 Anytime Tools caliper with mm and in. The Mitutoyo also has a plastic thumb pusher thing and stopper at the end whereas Anytime is all metal. I like the flexibility of having mm and in. Measurements are very similar across them from tests. 0.01 mm on the Mitutoyo vs 0.02 mm on Anytime is better and easier to read. Both slide smoothly. I like Japanese made Mitutoyo and respect the brand. Tough call but I’m going to keep the Anytime and hope it holds up well. For my hobbyist purposes, I think it’ll be good enough.

Authentic Mitutoyo calipers. Came on time and fully sealed. Highest marks for a good seller. Love them already and it's fun to do some manual measurements with these. I have a cheaper digital set that are also very accurate but I have a soft spot for fully mechanical things.

I was concerned about receiving knock offs. These are the genuine deal. I did lube and clean them, just a personal preference. Very accurate and easy to read/use. The starrett version was almost $100 more. Good value
