50+7.5 uf MFD 370 or 440 Volt Dual Run Round Capacitor PW-CAP-50/7.5/440R Condenser Straight Cool/Heat Pump Air Conditioner - Guaranteed to Last 5 Years

My central A/C compressor quit suddenly. It was trying to start every few minutes but could not. I checked the old capacitor. If the bulging ends weren't a good enough visual clue the capacitor setting on my multimeter proved its demise. Totally dead. I confirmed the ratings on the old one and bought this replacement. It's a little shorter which is no problem, but a 1/2" wider so I needed to find a new clamp to hold it in place. Not a big deal. Got the new one installed and plugged in. Turned the system back on and it started right up, no problems at all. Cheap and easy fix compared to calling in a repair person.

In a desperate need to get my AC running again, I ordered this capacitor which was impossible to find locally.The form factor was wider and shorter than the one it replaced (370v) which seems to be common for the 440v models. Note, you can go up (but not down) in voltage according to my research.As a result, I had to get creative with the existing mount and zip ties. It worked well and kicked right on after install.I will try to find (or make) a more permanent metal bracket and will report back if this fails prematurely. My last GE Genteq capacitors lasted 10 and 8 years respectively. I am hoping for 5 years on this one but will report back if it fails prematurely (and update my review as a result).So far it is working well.

There's not much to say about this. One of my home A/C unit's condenser stopped turning on earlier this year. Figured it might be the capacitor. Couldn't find one locally without having to pay some HVAC tech to come out and install it so. Found this capacitor with same rating as the one I pulled, ordered it, installed it, and all was well. Condenser back to functioning all summer.

Condenser would try to start, then shutoff, no heat emitted from outside unit, and inside vents were not blowing cold air.Checked all wiring connections and for any grounding on the compressor, all checked out.Removed capacitor and found little to no capacitance across the connectors.Ordered this part and plugged it one, worked perfectly first time and the AC is working more efficiently now too.This was the same size part so the mount also worked perfectly.Comes with 1 zip tie, which was enough for the 3 wires connector the capacitor.

Received product on time and good shape. It is not the same shape and size as my original capacitor. It is shorter and fatter so does not fit the original holder. I had to make a new holder for it. It works well.
