Incredibly loud in short 1/4 second burst! Will alert any advancing coyote here in Laguna Woods to stay the f$&@ away!!!

I got this because I had one for racing. Then I had a run in in with a German Shepard where it almost attacked my Golden retriever if I didn't have this in my pocket to give it a loud shock and turn into a docile good boy it would have been a . sad situation. Its small so it can fit in your pocket and loud enough to give just about anyone a freight if need be without it getting violent. After getting my first one I ended up buying five more lol. Later once I got to my fifth I noticed it was not working! I emailed customer service and Becky G. promised to replace the product as long as I returned it. I got it back today and just wanted to give kudos where it needs to go.

Carried it while hiking, just had to use it for first time. Worked for 2 seconds, just long enough to scare a curious coyote away. Literally 2 seconds, then cold substance sprayed out. Tried shaking after and never worked again. Update: I bought another thinking the last one was just a defective anomaly. However upon stumbling upon a mountain lion in the woods last night, the replacement horn didn’t even make a noise. It simply got cold and let out some compressed air. Banging trekking poles and shouting loudly did the trick fortunately. Awful product, dangerous

While still amazingly loud, this is not exactly your typical sports arena horn, it is listed as "safety" and it is definitely that, being so diminutive as to slip into most any pocket or purse. I would have to wonder about the possibilities of accidental discharge, there seems to be no safety mechanism other than a stiff trigger button, or unscrewing the horn from the cylinder enough to clear the mechanism, but this hardly seems useful if you need it in a hurry. While testing this theory I discharged it at my desk; twice, I strongly advise against this. It does suggest replacement- possibly bigger cans are available, but i have not yet looked into availability- it's pretty much probably best considered a disposable unit. Being so small, I was a little surprised by the high pitched tone which sounds not unlike air being let out of a pinched neck balloon, but it will still get a lot of attention. Can't really comment on the number of blasts contained in the 1.5 ounce cylinder, but judging by the speed at which the contained chilled, the discharge is fast- but shaking it (not advised before use) suggests there is a fair amount of liquid available. Still, I would suggest discretion in your blasting. A very handy and potentially life saving device you never knew you needed.

I purchased this air horn because I live out and there are a lot of coyotes, even with a fenced in yard I worry about my dogs, I’ve had them on the other side of the privacy fence. This horn is small but mighty and easy to use to scare off unwanted animals. Great price!

This item was key in a recent emergency. When a tree trunk rolled up over the scoop and front end of a neighbor's tractor, breaking the steering wheel and trapping him in the tractor seat with the trunk across his lap, he had a boat horn within reach and sounded it, with help arriving in minutes. Get several. We have one by each door to scare away bears. Carry one when walking alone in the woods. And keep one in your riding mower and tractor! Might want to have one in your car as well.

One would not work. See the plunger was showing through plastic in picture whereas the working one was not. Contacted Sabre and they has me send back to evaluate and sent another.
