A review for those thinking about using this for a small machete.
This knife is similar to old hickory and dexter russell, a "kitchen" knife made of good materials in the USA that's tough enough to be used in the outdoors. Like the big old hickory butcher knives this makes a great small machete, in fact I think these big, thin knives work far better at that than actual machetes. The dimensions listed are spot on, the fit and finish are top notch ( and wayyy better than old hickory) and after I stropped a slight burr off a small part of it the edge came screaming sharp with excellent edge geometry ( this too is far, far better than old hickory). The blade itself is pretty stiff, slightly more flexible than old hickory 14" butcher knife but not much and far less flexible than a machete. I want to say again the fit and finish is nearly perfect, in fact of the 30+ knives, swords, machetes etc I own this has the best, I can't find a single flaw or uneven line anywhere, in fact if not for the last 2" of edge having a small burr it would actually be perfect. I don't know anything about kitchen knives or how or what makes a good one or a bad one so I can't comment on that. This could easily be used to skin and butcher a dinosaur though.

Nice knife
Works beautifully, got some stains/discoloration/spots on blade after I washed it before using but didn't negatively blade when it came to cutting meat.

Looked good but cheap metal so if you buy it don't ...
This blade tarnished immediately. Looked good but cheap metal so if you buy it don't leave it in the sink or else it will rust
