The Cuban Cigar Handbook: The Discerning Aficionado's Guide to the Best Cuban Cigars in the World

one of the top 10 books on Cuban cigars I have owned, buyer beware, many of this author's reviews are of NEW, young cigars in Cuba, that have obviously not been aged long, if it all hence, his recurring issues with lighting, burning, taste, and relighting woes throughout the book. Obvious to this reader but somewhat surprised the author as an "Aficionado" or Conisseur" did not become aware of this simple fact during all his travels and cigar sampling in Cuba. Solid, Good book overall with good information but not a Very Good or Great book. Worth adding to library for info cross referencing.

Perhaps because I am newer to Cuban cigar smoking, and also very much because I am traveling to my homeland Cuba in December. I was able to enjoy all the sections of this book.It covers everything from the history of cigars,to the history of all the different brands. It also outlined each brand, it's Vitolas, and a review of a cigar in every brand.I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to have this kind of information handy. It's in his fourth edition, and it is hard bound, with very good quality paper and binding.No matter if you need a Cuban cigars like me, or an old timer like many of you, this is a good read, and a good book to share with others with our interest.

I have a number of books about cigars, but most of them have been read once and now stay on the shelf. This one lives on my desk and I refer to it a lot. If you are interested in Cuban cigars it is the best book on the subject that I've found so far. There have been a lot of changes recently, eg; with brands being repositioned in the market and switching to being totally hand made from machine made (eg; Quintero are now "Totalmente a Mano"). A book published even a few years ago (and even the latest edition of a well known book) will not reflect how things are today.If you want history and pictures, there are many fine books on the subject. If you want to know about Cuban cigars today, buy this one.

I bought this as a present for my husband. All other websites were pre-order but this managed to arrived a day before my husband's birthday which I was so pleased with. The book itself is a fairly thick, quality hardback with lots of useful and interesting facts in - a worthwhile purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised at how this book was written and the information given within it. Despite being about only Cuban cigars, it does acknowledge other production areas and that these also produce excellent cigars. An easy read.

Excellent read for the enthusiast, I have been going through this as and when I have a cigar which is twice a week, great read and packed with info not just about cigars but Cuba it’s self.

The book is very informative, best book to learn more about cigars.
