Top quality
I didn't even know they made end cutting bolt cutters until I needed a pair and did a search. These are top quality, very well made. Remember they are like big end nippers, they are for cutting the ends off bolts and nails in hard to reach areas. There is a little shield built into the jaws to keep the cut bits from jamming into the hinges, and it limits how much you can cut at a time to what I'd say was a bit over an inch. I see other posters didn't think the jaws were adjustable for wear, but they are. They do not have the standard adjustment jam bolt like many bolt cutters do. Instead, the bolts that hold the jaws have a kind of egg shape built into them, and by loosening the nut, and turning the bolt you can adjust the jaws to close tighter or looser against each other. They don't quite cut flush, but come close. Very well made, worth the price if you are looking for a top quality tool of this type. I have cut chains and 3/8 inch bolts mostly with it so far, and they take about the same amount of effort on the handles as any other good bolt cutters I have used of the same size.

Flush cut bolt cutter
Hard to find setup for a bolt cutter. These work really well and serve my purpose perfectly. Used to cut screws and nails that are ugly and too long on a covered patio. If you have a need I would look into these and recommend.

Well made. Rare tool.
Can't believe how hard it is to find end cut bolt cutters this size. When you need these nothing else will do.

Attrezzo buono nel taglio frontale. Solo un pò pesante e ingombrante.

When applying insulation to the attic, I needed to remove the tips of nails which were protruding through the roofing boards. Various sizes of nails had been used, but the toughest were old cut clasp nails with a rectangular section of about 5mm x 5mm, and which were protruding about 20mm I didn’t want to use an angle grinder due to the fire risk, so I initially tried a pair of flush-cut Knipex CoBolt cutters (71 22 200). This turned out to be tough going, and my hand was complaining about the amount of force needed to grip the CoBolts. Standard bolt cutters weren’t suitable, as they couldn’t cut flush to the surface, and most end nippers just weren’t long enough to give the necessary leverage, so I thought I’d get try a pair of end-cut bolt cutters. Being 24” long, they certainly take the effort out of cutting the nails! Like the CoBolts, they don’t cut totally flush, and leave the nails a little proud, but that is fine for my application. However, just like standard bolt cutters of this size, they do have some disadvantages: - In a confined space (eg a roof, operating between rafters), they are very bulky - You may have to open the handles very wide to accommodate the bolt/nail. - They are very nose-heavy, which can put a bit of a strain on your wrists - You usually need two hands to operate them, even when cutting small nails Unlike some bolt cutters, the jaws do not seem to be adjustable, but out of the box they were aligned with each other with no gaps. The jaws fully open to 10mm, and at that distance the ends of the handles are 825mm apart. What isn’t apparent from the single(!) photo that the seller has uploaded to their listing, is that these Eclipse cutters have a thin movable plate in the throat, which limits the length of nail you can cut. The attached photo from the manufactuerer's website to shows the plate. I removed the plate by disassembling the cutter head, and that now allows me to cut nails up to 20-23mm long, but in doing so you have to remember not to let the end of the nail foul the hinge mechanism. Although I still have to use the CoBolts (or a Multimaster) for some of the more inaccessible nails in the attic space, these Eclipse end-cut bolt cutters have dealt easily with all the other nails, and I am very happy to recommend them with 5 stars.
