My dog is finally happy. So am I.
Great boot. I originally bought this boot several months ago for my 150 pound Dane mix who had a foot operation and was slipping badly on my wood floors. I did not write a review at that time because I had a difficult time adjusting the boot to my dog's foot. Since then, after trying several other types of boots with no success at all, I re-tried this one again and after figuring out how to keep it on properly, I find this the best boot I have worked with and my dog is much happier. The boot stays on and doesn't turn upside down or come apart as many of the others do. It also is much softer on the foot than the hard surface soles of other types of boots. The soft leather has continued to provide slip stability, even after daily 'outside use' on my concrete driveway and yard. So far, after several weeks of continual usage, it has proved to be very durable. I put it on daily and leave it on most of the time, only taking it off at night when he sleeps to let him have some air on the foot. Last note, the sellers were very patient and communicative with me thru the process. Thanks.

Spectre likes this product and so does his human
My Weimaraner "Spectre" starts to lift his paws with the cold when walking in snow and on ice after about 10 minutes when the temperature is below -10 Deg. C. We have had a few days in Southern Ontario this winter when the temperature was below -23 Deg. C. Normally I would not walk him in those temperatures but we both decided to try out the new all weather dog boots one day and expected to hurriedly return to the van after a few minutes. Spectre had no problem with cold feet at all and ran around chasing down deer trails as usual. We spent about an hour or so running around in the bush and it was me lifting my paws that caused us to return to the van. We have repeated this experience many times since.I am very pleased with the product. The boots are highly water resistant, they stay on regardless of running, digging, skidding and ball chasing. They dry off very quickly and after a few false starts, when Spectre wasn't impressing with these things on his feet, they go on quite easily. They also match his winter coat and so as my "friends" tell me, he is better dressed than I am.They seem very durable, but regardless, as they wear out I will replace them.Michael

Can't believe the SERVICE and QUALITY
Elizabeth at Pro-Active Paws is AWESOME!!!!! It took me two times to get the right fit for my dog, and Elizabeth worked with me all the way. These are wonderful boots. They are smooth on the inside so as not to rub on Katie's sensitive skin, plus she made them especially long so that they stayed on when all other brands didn't. Katie doesn't even mind wearing them, which is a good thing as she has allergies and we use them to keep her feet clean while she's outside and she wears them inside to keep from tearing up the hardwood floors and herself when she itches.I highly recommend this company both for the superior product, and the wonderful service you get from them. I couldn't believe these little boots come all the way from Ireland...my dog isn't the least bit spoiled, is she? The main point is that Pro-Active Paws does a fantastic job of working with the individual animals and their owners in such a way that you don't mind that the price is a little more than the local pet store. These boots should last a good long time with minimal care. I am thrilled to have found this company and when people see the boots on Katie I make sure to sing praises for your company. When these wear out, my only hope is that I can still find you. Thank you for everything you have done for us, we appreciate it greatly.

including the kind with the plastic on the bottom that seemed really sturdy. But
This company is so helpful and willing to please. My greyhound had a tumor on her back toe that wouldn't heal. I had been wrapping it with bandages, socks, and other brands of footwear, including the kind with the plastic on the bottom that seemed really sturdy. But, they all slipped off her foot. We tried yunnan baiyao orally and topically. Normally they would have removed the toe for her condition. But, she is older and has congestive heart failure. Since surgery was so risky, our vet told us to keep it stable. This shoe was the only one that worked at all. The first one was a little loose so I sent for another one, it came so quickly. I was able to keep it on her paw a few weeks until the wound ulcerated into an artery. Then she had to have surgery. I took her to a specialist who removed her toe and she made it through the surgery. Now, I have a greyhound that just turned 13 years old is chasing squirrels in the yard every day! The thing about this boot is this: I didn't need it for very long, but the week or so I used it, were worth every penny. Looking back, I would've paid $1000 for it when her toe bled the first time. If you're unsure, email them and ask them, they will get right back to you! At least they did me!

Relief for grass allergy dog
Our dog is allergic to grass, yet loves to play fetch (and would get a rash within an hour if she wasn’t wearing clothes). We bought a K9 topcoat full body suit, but her paws were still getting red and irritated. We bought these boots and now she is covered up neck to toes and able to play in the grass again. Seller service was great – we drew a picture of her paw (no weight) and measured the width, and then double checked with the Seller, also providing her breed and weight info. They confirmed the size (2” for us) and suggested the “greyhound-type” version since her skin is so sensitive (she had no hair on all 4 lower legs/paws when we got her from a rescue - I wonder due to gnawing due to itchiness….). The boots fit well, don’t twist, and don’t fall off when she dashes, pivots, and jumps for the ball (5-6’) (through grass, low brush). She’s got an old leg injury that causes her to pivot more on the other leg/put more pressure on one side than the other – and the boots still stay put. She took to them immediately - they do seem to give her a “feel” for the ground that I don’t think other boots (hard-soled, etc) would as she’s also comfortable scrambling through rocks nearby. Recommended.
