I am very glad that I did not pass this up because of the negative reviews. I did a lot of research before buying this vest and I am confident I made a good decision. There was a faint smell when I first opened it but it went away. I don't know if some vests smell more than others or if some people are just sensitive but I barely noticed the smell and it did not transfer to my clothes. Having the ability to adjust the weights is great but I've maxed out the weight so that isn't a big plus for me anymore. It is pretty comfortable considering it weighs 32 pounds. It fits very well and does not move around (I'm 6 feet and 210 pounds). It is a bit challenging to put on and take off because it does weigh 32 pounds (but it is hard to blame the vest for that). I've had no issues with leakage of the sand. A big plus is that you can store your phone and keys in the front (many competing products have the storage in the back). If I wanted to find something to be critical about, it would be that maybe offering other colors would be nice...I live in Arizona and yes, I walk in the heat with it and black is probably not the best color although it may not make much difference.

Update 7.13.25 I am upping the stars to 5 as it's not their fault i have a hard time seeing the clips, that is just me. The vest does exactly what it is designed for. I wish I'd gotten the heavier one so I could use it to work my way up to a heavier weight. I underestimated how much I could put on at once, but I still get great benefit from this one.I bought this vest to "up" my walking game. I walk 10,000 steps a day with 1/2 hr of aerobics. However, I wanted to "up" my game in terms of aerobic benefit, and this had delivered nicely as it raises my heart rate without a lot of additional effort. I can very lightly jog in place to get just where I want to be.I got this also because I like the option to start lower and move up. It turns out though I didn't need that, but still I was glad to have it. In hindsight I wish I had gotten the heavier option to start with but, live and learn, this works for me now so I'll stick with it.The only thing I don't like about it so far is the clips are black both male and female parts so it makes it difficult for me visually when lining them up to click in place while angling the vest to reach them. This is just me though, I am sure.There is the chemical smell that others have mentioned but I expected it and it does seem to have lessened after a few days.In terms of "comfort", well, it doesn't chafe or cut into me so I it has enough padding, that's about all I can say. And if I don't wear a shirt it stays in place thanks to the rubber coating on the inside of the straps.I am very happy with it for now, I took a star off because of the smell and not being able to see easily to join the clips, but those are relatively minor problems in my opinion.

This weighted vest is of good quality and I like the configuration/distribution of the weights throughout the front and back of it. I purchased the 4-10lb vest; the straps have decent padding and it wears comfortably and the design of it makes it easy to get over my head without catching my pony tail/bun/hat. The straps are adjustable and the material appears to be very durable and it is also breathable - we're having 100+ degree days in NC so that is a big plus. I bought this because I wanted to level up my walks with my dog - we walk twice a day and being able to add additional cardio benefits is a plus. I will say I learned the hard way that if you have poor posture (which I do), a weighted vest can easily cause additional neck and back pain/issues so keep that in mind when heading out for your run or jog. I appreciate that I have to be very aware of my posture now and correct it throughout my walks. I give it 4 stars only because neither of the mesh pockets on the front are roomy or secure enough for my iPhone, either vertically or horizontally. I like that they are on the front but a little redesign to make a larger one and a more secure elastic on both to hold items in would be welcomed.

I bought the Zelus 20-32lb adjustable weight vest. This is my first weighted vest and I didn't want to have to buy multiple vests, so I went with the higher weight. Out of the box, first impressions: it has that classic neoprene smell. It's obvious but it wasn't overwhelming for me personally. It's heavy. I'm not in any kind of shape (except round) so may have overdone it on the weight, but that's not a product flaw. It's soft and sits comfortably on my body. The base 20lbs feels evenly distributed over the front and back of the vest. It feels high quality, but only time will tell on how well it holds up. It has reflective striping for safety on nighttime walks. Overall, super happy with this purchase and I feel it will serve me well on my fitness journey. I wish you all the best on your journeys.

I was afraid this was going to be unbearable due to comments about smell, but all mine has is an occasionally plastic or chemical smell which amounts to nothing. I had the kind that slips over your shoulders, but it gave my shirt a tight appearance. Since I have a larger chest, it made me feel like my boobs were the only thing people noticed when I was out walking. This rests on the chest, so I don't have this issue. I hang it on a clothes hanger after I wear it in case it gets damp. Currently using it at 6 lbs. It is supposed to help repair my Paget's Disease and Osteopenia.
