Q: does it actually pick up the cleaning solution or is the floor left wet to evaporate?

It does not store, or suck up, the dirty water. It will leave the floor wet, but very light and dries quickly. (It's like using a Swiffer Wet Jet without you having to push the mop around!)

Q: I dont have pets..Will this work for regular kitchen/home debris and mop tiles/hardwood floors?

Yes, I use it for my hardwood floors every night.

Q: can you use other stuff in the machine to clean with

I’ve used bona hardwood floor cleaner with water. It works really well

Q: I have a house that was built in 1850 and each room has high thresholds at each door. Can it navigate over them or will it be a hinderance?

It just depends on how high they are. For those that are too high, I simply pick her up, place her in the room and close the door. When she is finished, I place her in the next room with the same process.

Worked brilliantly for a few months, then stopped dispensing water. Bissell was not interested...

Because I bought this through Amazon, Bissell was not interested when it stopped working within a few months of purchase. While it did work, it was really the best I've had since the Scooba was discontinued, but it was a fair sum of money to get probably less than 3 months' use from. I am moving away from this brand, as I've had no success with the Crosswaves, either.....
