Integrating art into your homeschool should be fun! Home Art Studio homeschool art curriculum DVDs are designed to increase students' love and appreciation for the visual arts while providing an opportunity to improve their abilities to problem-solve, think creatively, and express themselves artistically. Art history lessons are also integrated throughout, as well as cross-curricular suggestions for math and social studies. Students are introduced to drawing, painting, and sculpting, while lessons emphasize how art is everywhere. Just one lesson per week will allow you to complete the program in less than a year. You simply need to provide the supplies! Lesson plan PDF documents are included on the DVD-ROM to help teachers make the most of each lesson-time. Easy-to-follow lessons are age-appropriate and concepts are reinforced in later grades; students may work at their own pace without any fear of falling behind. This program is perfect for parents who don't have a lot of art experience, but who want to ensure that their children receive a well-rounded arts education. First graders will learn about the visual arts in past and present cultures, "traveling" from Mexico to Australia. Students will master important art vocabulary and work in a variety of mediums- - - every project is chosen to help develop specific art elements and principles, practice fine motor skills, and teach a little about the culture on which it is based. 171 minutes on DVD-ROM. Grade 1.

Meets my needs and the requirement for homeschool art
I have not used this DVD set yet with my grandson, but I just previewed the entire set and it is just want I needed for homeschool art. I will add other things as well, but this gives a good basic program and varied projects. I did not find that the supplies were things I would not have on hand, except Sculpy clay which I was able to order online. I previously used her kindergarten DVD set as well. My grandson loved all the projects and he always very enthusiastic about his lessons.

Great!
Love this for home school, but could be done over the summer of afterschool with an artsy kid. You have to prep your materials but they're mostly the run of the mill art stuff. I taught my daughter how to pause and play the DVD player for when I can't sit with her. She loves it.

Budget Homeschool Art
This is a good homeschool art program for the price. We used a more expensive program previously, (that we absolutely loved but couldn't afford to continue with at $130 a level), so Home Art Studio has become our new art program. While previewing the program, my 5 year old said he did not like it as much since they seem to just use paper while our other program used many different materials. Had we used this program first I think he would really like it, but he still enjoys doing the projects. It does seem a bit more like crafts, but I think that again that is only due to having used an excellent product previously.I do plan to buy the next level, as it is an affordable art option. Hopefully it picks up in the higher grades.

The program itself is good, but the cost of supplies (most of which are only used once or twice) will cost you a lot.
