Nice simple way to work an accessory.
I purchased this to activate cooling fans in an AV cabinet. The short cord and small size are great within the AV rack. When the receiver turns on, the cooling fans will power on. I’m not drawing high amps, so no telling how well it would hold up with high amperage use, but does exactly what I wanted. In my shop I have a similar setup with dust collection and chop saw. This would work there too, but that device I’m using there allows me to manually switch on vac when I need it, and a longer cord. Cord length would not be an issue for me in that set up, but being able to manually turn on vac in that setting is a nice option. But this was 1/2 the $$. For simple remote turn on, it works great.

Subwoofer Solved
OK, I know this is for saws and vacuums, but I tried it to solve another problem and it works.BACKGROUND:Subwoofer kept shutting off if left on 24/7. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it. Replaced that one with one that was supposed to "sense" when there was signal and power on and off when no signal for some time. Guess what? That didn't work either. Would kick on in the middle of a song or movie -- jolting. Old stereo amps (before subwoofers were a thing) had a switched outlet on the back but new ones typically don't.SETUP:I plugged this Automatic Switch into my UPS, my amp into the I outlet and my subwoofer into the II outlet and that was it. No setup, no configuration, just works. When I turn on the amp, an instant later, the subwoofer powers up. When I turn off the amp, several seconds later, the subwoofer shuts off. Perfect.QUALIFICATIONS:The seller states that it takes .25A (27.5W at 110V) to trigger the switch. My amp is listed at 2A so I decided to give it a try and it works perfectly. Check the rating on your amp to be sure, but it's likely to be fine.

switchy switch thinggy
I set this up for my chop saw and a small vaccum. It works great. A slight delay in start and stop function. Start the saw and vaccum together without having to turn on multiple switches on your devices. Vaccum stays on an additional few seconds to clear debris from the vaccum hose then shuts off. It is a welcome addition to my woodworking tools and shop. I plan to buy additional units for my table saw and router table. Worth the $$

Works perfect for my purpose - a swimming pool pump and UV sterilizer light
My use is a little unconventional - I'm using this to turn on a UV sterilizer (only 55 watts) at the same time my pool pump comes on. I have a small above ground pool with an upgraded sand/saltwater pump setup that allows you to program times into it. However there's no capability to turn an external device on/off from it of course, so I needed a simple way to do it. When the pump is off, it draws hardly any current - when it's running obviously it draws a decent amount (well more than the trip level for this switch.)So now, when the pump comes on, the UV sterilizer light comes on just as intended. Ideally you don't want to leave the light on all the time as it can overheat (and it shortens the lifespan of the bulb.) Between the saltwater and UV sterilizer (and regular removal of bugs/leaves) the pool stays crystal clear with hardly any maintenance. My ONLY gripe is the weird offset of the outlets; the pool pump has a large-ish GFCI plug on it and I had to buy a pack of little shorty 8" extension cords to use this (the pool pump plugs into the top outlet and covers the other outlet otherwise.) Outside of that one gripe, it works perfect!

Works Great!
Small size. No settings to adjust. Simple to use.I am initially using it to alert me when my sump pump is running. I have a radio plugged into the controlled receptacle, so the sump pump plugged into the master receptacle, will turn-on the radio 0.5 seconds after the pump starts, and turns-off the radio 5 seconds after the pump turns-off.

Great idea, poor execution
Great idea, poor execution. It functions as its supposed to, but 15A is not enough for saw and vacuum as advertised. Step up to the 20A. Continues to shut down my Makita chop saw. I have to stop mid cut, reset by holding in two buttons, then continue to cut. It can not handle a chop saw and a shop vacuum at the same time.
