I have been a mouth breather all my life. I'm 68. I don't sleep well and have a dry mouth all night. I have tried so many different guards, but they didn't work. This Nose Breathe Trainer has changed the way I sleep and breathe! I have been using one for at least 2 years now. It also prevents me from grinding my teeth at night. Unlike other mouth guards and devices, this one is made of soft silicon and can be trimmed for a more comfortable use as well. I have been a mouth breather all my life and now I breath through my nose during the day as well as at night. I sleep so much more soundly thanks to this wonderful nasal trainer. Even as I am writing this review, I am aware of how my tongue automatically is sitting now in the right place - the roof of my mouth - without me making an effort to do so! Nose breathing is so much healthier! For me it also has the added benefit of preventing me from grinding my teeth and this was an issue that had caused one of my back molars to fracture and be removed. My whole mouth, which is quite narrow is now so much more relaxed. I highly recommend this product. It lasts for ever and for the cost - what a deal! Thank you Dr Sue for inventing this!

This device was unusable until I modified it. The whole goal for me is to learn to sleep with my mouth closed, and this device has little 'wings' that hold your mouth open almost 1/4 inch! So I cut the wings off (which was risky because it meant I could not have returned it if it still didn't work.) But with the wings off, it is great! It's very comfortable, and completely effective in keeping me from mouth breathing. And the little stick in front makes it very easy to adjust and to take out if you want to talk to someone for a moment. My other concern is the info sheet that comes with the device. Not reassuring at all. No basic instructions, and NO INFO ABOUT MATERIALS. The listing on Amazon says it's medical grade silicon, but the paper with the device does not confirm that, which makes me nervous about using it. It feels like silicon, so for now I will hope that it is. But there should be some kind of materials information included with the product! Bottom line, if you're willing to cut into a brand new $35 device to modify it, and if you're willing to trust the listing about the silicon, this is a great device for stopping mouth breathing. If not, don't buy it.

ALSO I WAS BEING TREATED FOR HEART P.V.C.'S PREMATURE VENTRICULAR CONTRACTIONS, MEANING THAT THE HEART BEATS BEFORE THE LOWER CHAMBER OF THE HEART REFILLS WITH THE PROPER AMOUNT OF BLOOD. I bought at least 5 other mouthpieces of various shapes and sizes and returned each of them after trying them for at least a week each. All were so uncomfortable that even if they had worked, I'm not sure I could suffer through using the torturous contraptions. Maybe one or two helped a little, very little, but not enough to warrant keeping them. I kept looking and reading. When I first saw the Nose Breathe trainer, I knew it would be comfortable, and the information was actually true, and was made in the USA. I went to his website and read all about Dr. Sue. And I ordered the item. I was actually excited, hoping for an end to dry mouth and all the problems that eventually arise from a dry mouth, and snoring, and lack of oxygen. I had been using a sleep app on my iphone and knew how much I snored, (2-3 hours each night) and knew how much the other mouthpieces had not worked. I have used the Nose Breathe Trainer every night since it arrived. It is comfortable, hardly aware it's in your mouth. I've not had dry mouth since the first night. My snoring time lessened with each week, and in the last few weeks it's been 2-5 minutes nightly. One night no snoring was registered on the app. It's a different feeling when you wake up after a good night's sleep. Sorry this is so long. You won't be sorry buying this, and you won't be sending it back. I just ordered my second one. I like being a nasal breather!

I read the reviews before purchasing. I have had issues with mouth breathing my whole life and dry mouth at night had gotten worse, so I thought why not try this. I had used mouth tape previously and it did not work well for me. This is easy to use, and clean. The downside is that it leaves a gap between teeth when wearing, which for those who grind their teeth, that is a plus, not a negative. I do not grind my teeth and having my jaw sit that way was annoying. I still had my mouth open on me on and off while using this, and eventually gave up sleeping with it. I will say that it did make me more aware of daytime mouth breathing and did help some with dry mouth overnight. It did not help the dry mouth disappear as it didn't allow me to keep my mouth closed completely once relaxed while asleep. This could just be from my lips being smaller. I am not sure. Definitely worth a try though for anyone with dry mouth, or mouth breathing issues at night before looking into other methods to help.

I have found that since I’ve started using this, I wake up less during the night. I usually sleep with my Invisalign mouthguard, and I can use both this thing and the top mouth guard at the same time. I can tell that it is helping with the snoring. It won’t readjust your palate or your jaw or anything, but it is way better than mouth tape and for the price, I would say it’s a pretty good deal.
