My daughter love these socks for the first day of school. She wears a size 8 1/2 so I would say they are true to size. They are thin and not too bulky so they don’t make your shoe feel any tighter than a normal sock. These are so popular right now with all the kids and junior high in high school, I would buy time and time again very nice quality and very sturdy fluff so that they don’t droop down
