It has a terrible odor/smell. Will this dissipate and will salt absorb the smell.

Received mine today, 3/23/23, and it has a very strong smell which reminds me of turpentine. I have hand washed it with dish soap and allowing to dry. Still no improvement in the smell. I'm concerned about these noxious fumes contaminating the salt and poisoning us! I'll try again to wash and allow to air dry. If it doesn't improve, I'll need to send back.

The outer paint or polish got peeled off after one week of use even without washing or rough use.

The seller or manufacturer cheated us with its poor quality of materials used and for a very small product like this. The polish came off in many areas including its outer lid which appears to be weird looking. I really regret buying this low quality product for a high price and don’t recommend it at all.
