My comments don't reflect the tast or quality of the product nor the delivery driver. It is the best smoked herring! My husband loves them. Definitely worth purchasing! Our only problem is that 3 of the 10 cans were damaged. It was wrapped in bubble wrap and in a box. No visible damage to the box so I suspect it must have been damaged at the Amazon warehouse and was packed and shipped that way. This is our 2nd time ordering the smoked herring and it came in the same condition last time but I did not post. I hope this can be corrected in the future. I wonder if it was picked up by a machine vs human order processing? Just a guess. You will love this product!

I enjoy canned seafood like oysters, clams, etc. I also smoke my own seafood catches. I love this product, great taste, firm texture and is at a very good price point.

Close to 6 dollars a can- king oscars are pretty good BUT each fillet in the rugenfische has intact skin and the fat content of the fish is between the skin and the meat making these fillets super succulent! A little saltier than I would like but the smoking is just right and definatly an upgrade to the supermarket available king oscars. Ill buy more rugen when I run out- oh also you get alot of fish, these are 6.7 ounce cans compared to the king oscars kippers at 3,5 ounces- ! they are a good deal when you look at the price od the can vs how much fish is in each one

These are great tasting, and have been my favorites for years. The added vegetable oil seems to keep the fish from becoming overly dry, which I find to be a problem for me with brands of canned fish that do not add oil. My most recent shipment was carelessly packaged by Amazon. It was in an overly large box along with two cases of smaller cans. There was no padding inside the box. One of the other cases dented some of the cans badly enough that there was oil dripping from the box. In the future I'll order these by themselves, which should reduce the odds of the cans being damaged.

So good with lemon and rice. My favorite so far.
