No. China is what I’ve seen as the CJRB HQ. Still a great knife just sayin.

Is this a push button auto flip?

No it doesn't auto open. It does have an assisted opening lever. It opens fast and very fluid.

The blade doesnt always swing into place. Theres a small bump just under the top of the locking mechanism, is this a defective unit?

As my EDC, I have this knife on my hip anytime I leave the house. I've opened it hundreds of times without it ever failing to lock in the open position. I would say there is a defect as my locking mechanism is straight and smooth, without any bumps or notches. Hope this helps.

what is the factory sharpening angle?

I'm not sure I've been keeping mine at a 18° initial bevel with a 20° micro bevel and it's a straight razor blade. I use the work sharp fixed angle sharpener that recently came out then finish on a leather strop with compound and it's incredible how sharp and tough these cjrb knives can get.
