We use this to control traffic over a truck scale located 200' feet away. Works great. Easy install.

LED traffic light
I’m unfamiliar with the wiring of a stop light so I’m not sure what’s needed but this doesn’t change from red to green. I’m almost positive there needs to be some sort of switch hooked up for that. What I did was switch a couple wires so the the red and green light comes on when plugged in. There was no plug when I got this in the mail so I had to wire one up myself. It’s just 110v so it’s not hard at all. I got this to hang in my garage as a prop. I like to collect old vintage signs and such so thought this would be a fun addition. It’s made of plastic and seems to be made fairly well. The lights are LED’s so they are really really bright.I hope that you found this review helpful and if so it would be awesome if you could tap that helpful icon below. Thank you so much.

A great light, pay attention to wiring
The media could not be loaded. This is a full sized, bright LED traffic light. It says that it is waterproof, but the wiring entry on the back will let in water as-is; you’d have to provide an alternate fitting (i.e. Sealtite) to make it truly waterproof. As shipped, there is a terminal block inside and a pre-attached wire with a red, black, and green cable. This is counter intuitive, since if you don’t look at the terminal block or wiring diagram, you might assume that black is hot, green is ground, and red is neutral. If you hook it up that way, both lights will light up and it will be mis-wired. In fact, the black is neutral, red is hot for the red light and green is hot for the green light. So, with an on-off-on three (3) position switch, connected properly, center would be off, and the other two positions would be on and off. I initially bought a Uxcell Inline Cord Switch AC 250V 3A On-Off-On Control DPDT Feed-Through Rocker Switch here on Amazon to connect it as described. The power draw for the LED lights is quite low, less than 5W per lamp, 8W with both lamps on, so this switch is perfect. However, after playing with it, I decided to connect a separate power cord for each of the two lights and connect them each to a smart outlet. I have programmed Alexa, so when you say “Alexa, red light”, she turns off the green and turns on the red, and the opposite for “Alexa, green light”. Now, I can change the traffic light with voice commands, as shown on the attached video. Now I’m having trouble deciding where to put it – it is too cool to just hide it in the garage.Otherwise, this is a pretty industrial looking product. The mounting brackets are pretty flexible in terms of configuration, you can mount the sunshades either horizontally or vertically, and overall the product is very sturdy. You may have real traffic-light applications for it, or just want to play with it like I have. Either way, it is highly recommended.
