A book you won't want to put down and should be shared with all
This is a riveting book written by Anne Frank while she was a teenager, in hiding with her family from the Nazis. Included are photos of Anne, of the building where she and the others were in hiding, the secret entrance to a hidden staircase that led to the hiding place (the "Secret Annexe") and entries in her diary. In the beginning she wrote: "It's an odd idea for someone like me to keep a diary; not only because I have never done so before, but because it seems to me that neither I - nor for that matter anyone else - will be interested in the unbosoming of a thirteen-year-old schoolgirl. Still, what does that matter? I want to write, but more than that, I want to bring out all kinds of things that lie buried deep in my heart" -Anne Frank. She wrote these sentences, not knowing they would preface a best selling book, read by so many. I read this when I was 10 years old, in the 5th grade, but I didn't want to put it down. I won't go on, and give away anything to you. I would recommend that everyone should read this. Please share it with the young people in your life...I think they could benefit from reading Anne Frank's experiences, especially at this time. I'm not saying that they are privileged... just that anyone can be aware that what they have is precious.~Kristen

Not a fan of the print job.
The words on many pages are printed at a slant, many typos, pages 33-48 are in the book twice. The book itself is in great condition and is still very readable. When it was shipped to me, the tracking number was not traceable and the delivery date change numerous times. Glad it finally got here!

Should be required reading for all
I read this book in Jr High and again in High School when studying the Holocaust...we watched portions of the Nuremberg Trials on old films as well, in High School...I was fortunate enough to visit Anne Franks Home/Hiding Place in Holland during a summer break...And more and more books are still being published and The Shoah Collection of films is moving....but this book remains most memorable for me...I keep giving my copies away! So I purchased another yet again...

Ann Frank is painfully honest and mature beyond her years. She is a truely gifted soul who's diary still makes us ponder.
This is a good book, but I read "The Definitive Edition" first and thought that version was much better. There were slight changes in some of the wording that made me uncomfortable; that Ann herself did not use that vocabulary. I base my point of view on the comparison to the definitive version I read. I also want to note that the printing on this book is not very good. One, of the two books I bought, the print was so light that several pages were barely readable. I would rather pay a bit more money for better printing. I would recommend buying Ann Frank "The Definitive Addition" The diary Of A Young Girl. Even if it's a second hand book. Too bad it is no longer in print. Ann Frank is painfully honest and mature beyond her years. Her very personal feelings & observations with her family members are truths that every one can relate to. But not every one has the courage Ann has to open up and display their feeling on paper for all the world to see.

Low grade printing
A book that should be read by everyone. My lower rating is the printing itself- sometimes bold and sometimes not; some letters are faded. I like to keep what I think are important books, but I won't keep this one.

A Must Read
A must read for anyone who loves to read. Anne is amazingly eloquent and a truly gifted writer for someone so young. Everyone knows how it ends but somehow know that the author doesn't know is quite captivating. A very engrossing look inside the life of a Jewish family and an incredibly normal teenage girl in hiding during WW2.

Highly Recommended Book for Everyone Over Age 12
Excellent book that I recommend for everyone over age 12. Frank's real-life account of life as a persecuted teenager is gripping and poignant, and a dramatic lesson for people of all faiths in acceptance, religious tolerance, and brotherly love.
