Bought this for our bedroom and bought one that was bigger than required for the size of the bedroom but it is just right. I’d recommend buying a bigger one than the technical details suggest. The remote control is a little clunky but works fine. I would not say it was silent. It has 2 modes, normal and silent. The silent mode is quieter but not silent. This replaced a very old unit that I had and it’s much much better. Our bedroom is nice and cool and we slept so well. The sleep mode is a great function too - although pretty much standard in all units. Overall, very pleased with this purchase.

This product is a good solution to bring down temperatures where you can't install fitted air-con. It emits cool air very efficiently, and the condensate is mostly expelled via the hot exhaust, so only a tiny residual amount of water collects at the bottom of the machine, and which is drainable by unlocking a screw cap, only necessary to do occasionally. It comes with a sash window outflow bracket. But with all other window types you will need to improvise. I have the hose feeding out of a small velux. A few points to note. 1. It has 4 fan speed settings, which includes a 'silent' mode. But it is nowhere near silent, even on the quietest setting. 2. The slats are fixed and blow the air at an angle of about 35 degrees from vertical, which works well. 3. The supplied flexi-hose is short at only 1.2m, so you need to place it very near a window. Or purchase a longer hose, but which compromises efficiency, as the hose itself emits some heat.

The best thing we’ve bought for our flat. It’s brilliant at cooling down our bedroom (relatively small) and very effective even in our sitting room (large). We often wheel it to different rooms. It is a bit of a faff to set it up after moving it, but it’s a small price to pay to be cool in these awful heat spikes during Summer. We had to buy different window fittings as we have sash windows, which was a bit of a challenge. Even with the extra accessories, it’s not a perfect seal, however, it still does a fantastic job at keeping our room cool.

This is a good machine, quiet and does a good job cooling down the flat BUT beware - we got a clearly used air conditioner. There's a very dirty full handprint on the inside of the box and the instruction/set up bag was opened. Just be aware that you're paying full price for something that was clearly returned or refurbished.

do not buy! We had ours for one year, and after the warranty passed, it broke down, and no one can fix it.

Machine works well, no noisier than you;d expect. CGS Stores sent it four days earlier than expected but the casing was broken somewhere in transit. Although it still worked we were worried that it had also sufered additional damage so refused the firm's offer of compensation and requested a replacement. This came two days later and is doing its job. Their customer service was exemplary - very quick responses, pleasant on the phone and an immediate pickup of the damaged item and replacement.

Used it for the first time last night, a replacement for an old unit that finally failed. I was immediately disappointed by the fact that the minimum temperature you can request from this machine is 18C. As was expected at that, sleep was not great. Why does some idiot in the med get to decide on what they think is comfortable, all ac should be capable of being set to at least 16C even if it can only achieve that in small spaces. On this basis I am now looking for another ac unit more suitable for a bedroom. However, it is more than capable of dropping the temp to 18C and does so very quietly for an ac unit. I don't know what these people on here expect but running a compressor is always going to create noise. The best you can hope for is that well built and soundproofed machines can reduce this much the same as dishwashers and washing machines, but they will never be quiet. If you want silence, then don't buy an ac unit unless you go for split units where the noisy bit is outside. So, in this capacity, this product is indeed very good. Shame that they did not allow the program to select 16C, that would have earned this 5* and an unbeatable excellent review. As it is, not very good value for the money because of it's limited temperature selection. Cooling ability in so far as it can be selected is very good and the build quality is also very good.

Easy to set-up. Easy to use,
