My central air conditioning fan was not spinning when turned on. I researched YouTube and came across a few different causes for the issue. Upon opening up the unit (AFTER CUTTING OFF POWER AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BOX) and visually inspecting the inside I noticed the capacitor looking expanded and a red power wire burnt to a crisp. I checked Amazon and came across the exact capacitor type my unit had. I can't believe how fast the item was shipped to me and how fast I was able to install it on my own. Very easy process following a YouTube video. I spent $14 for this capacitor which took me only 15-20 minutes to do the job. As for the power wire, I simply cut off the burnt part of the red power wire, spliced to expose some copper and screwed the copper under a screw where it was originally located. I took pictures before doing anything to know where each wire was located on the capacitor.I saved a lot of cash not having to call in a professional. It's going on 2 weeks with no issues. Highly recommend buying this capacitor if it matches your old one. I could be wrong but my AC actually feels colder after the replacement. Since the old one looked as if was about to burst I believe it wasn't working to its full potential. Thank you!

It works. And it was available next day.I don’t know what the deal is with my new Trane, but it kills capacitors like it’s its job.How is this capacitor so cheap!? I don’t expect it to last but it’s working fine for now. I’ve ordered another pair to keep around for the next time I lose a cap.Edit. It lasted a year and a half. Longer than I expected.

Great replacement capacitor
This is second one of these capacitors I have installed. The original caps failed in both my 2012 Trane units. Easy fix for outside unit fan not starting (most common problem)
