BUY THIS
I am not someone who normally reads books. I'm an older guy now and I have to say there are three books that I recommend and stand buy, this is one of them (and the only one on this topic). I bought this copy for my daughter's boyfriend. I'll buy copies for both of my girls and the other's boyfriend. I've recommended this book countless times and it helps prepare you for an interview like no other and land jobs...that's more than worth the cost.Cheap investment to help you own your own destiny and decide which jobs you want.

I love the Knock 'Em Dead series!
I'm retired now, but I bought this book for my daughter-in-law when she moaned about interviewing for jobs. It provides the reader with the psychology behind interviewing so that you understand what the interviewer is really asking and you're never caught without an answer. It's also full of great tips. I have an older version of this book that I marked up and used for years throughout my career for both being interviewed and interviewing candidates. The entire Knock 'Em Dead series is worth reading for the young professional and it's a great addition to your library. I can't tell you how many times I've loaned my books out to job seekers, but I thought my daughter-in-law needed her own copy to mark up and make it her own. Applying the wisdom in this book will increase your skills and transform your interviewing. It will definitely put you in front of other candidates who aren't as prepared. Happy job hunting!

A Must-Have for All Job Seekers
Martin Yate shares his years of HR and Headhunting experience in helping the job seeker better prepare for their next interview. It’s a tool I plan on using for years to come whether I’m looking to grow within a company or move in a different direction. So what are you waiting for? Not that useful for a corporate/skilled job
Honestly, I expected a lot more from this book, but it seemed to lack the information I needed. I'm a recent college grad, but this book targets the middle class worker that does not have a college degree and probably never went to an interview before. I was looking for formatting my answers so I do not make up my answers on the spot in my interview, but this was not satisfied. Yes, It helped a little bit, but was not worth reading this book. To add onto that, the book overcomplicates interviews which should be a strategy to steer the conversation rather than looking at each question individually and trying to answer them.

This book is a NEED to get those offers!
I was getting job interviews left and right but not landing any offers. I would go on job interviews next after next, going all the way to the end till they say they went with another candidate. My friend told me about this book so I bought figuring why not. I swear after I read this book. Boom! 2 job offers. This book is a must if you're looking to land that new job.

Impressive amount of advice
There are lots of resources available to people on the job market. But many of them stick to focusing on applying for jobs – how to search for a good job, how to make your resume stand out, etc. It’s rare to find advice on preparing for an interview and negotiating the terms of your employment.I was impressed by how much advice was given in this book and how many aspects of the interview preparation and process were given. From appearance to body language to maintaining your composure when the interviewer gets a little too personal, every scenario seemed to be covered. The author offered so many tips that never would have occurred to me.This is an excellent tool to keep on hand throughout a job hunt, and even as a refresher when you’re trying to make yourself invaluable to your employer or if you’re up for a promotion. This book reminds us to maintain a sense of professionalism that seems lost on so many applicants. I am confident that I will stand out from the crowd in my future applications and interviews.

Getting Through a Job Interview
One of the most nerve-racking experiences is the job interview. Most people change jobs on average once every four years, so it is essential to learn how to turn job interviews into job offers and jobs. There are so many facets to the job interview, including what the job interviewer is looking for in a prospective job seeker. There are skills that are transferable from one industry to another, but when it is a choice between otherwise equally matched applicants, it is usually the job seeker that has similar industry experience that gets the job. From the phone interview to the face-to face interview this book guides you through the steps needed to get a job. What questions you might be asked and how to best answer them is covered. The way you appear to the interviewer is covered, with what apparel is best to wear to a job interview. It still remains true that the job interview is for many of us, a hurdle that needs to be overcome, and this book definitely assists with getting though it.
