I got the black verison and was impressed with the sharp look of the map. One problem I was having early on was the adhesive residue marks making the map look sloppy after scratching portions off of it, but applying a small bit of rubbing alcohol to a paper towel and scrubbing got it off easily. Some portions of the map were a little stubborn when attempting to scratch them off, but scrubbing those a bit harder with the rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel loosened them up so I didn't have to risk damaging the map by going too hard on it with the provided pick. Overall good purchase.

When we tried to scratch off the countries we visited, it just put holes into the map. We tried to be gentle and we used the tool that came with the map and it either wouldn't do anything, or it would scratch all the way through. Luckily its intact enough that we can use the map as a decoration at least.

I've seen this at such higher prices, this one is a good deal. It even comes with its own scratcher so you don't risk tearing it scratching with something that's too harsh! I'm so incredibly happy with this map! If you're a traveler and you're thinking of buying it...just do it! I got it in black and gold & it looks lovely framed in my living room. It's nice quality, better than the material quality of those scratch off lotto tickets. .Seriously just love this thing. It's nice and big, it's classy, & it's a more unique way to mark the areas you've visited. I also love that at the bottom you can scratch off an entire continent, like Africa, in just a few inches. I'm going to hang up all my favorite travel photos around the map. This is going to be such a great gift for a friend of mine. He is a world traveler and it should take him a while to uncover everywhere he has already gone and hopefully challenge him to uncover more. The paper is really thick and even without any revealed locations, it is a beautiful decorative piece. I'm thinking it could be used just the way it came, framed nicely it would be perfect in a den. It came in a nice hard tube that will be perfect to wrap. I am thinking about getting a nice frame for it, but I wouldn't be able to have glass for obvious reasons. I am very happy with this purchase. It's very unique.I received this at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion and found this to be a very high quality and unique product at a fantastic price.

I bought this as a gift for a friend of mine who travels all over the world. She absolutely loved it! The gift case was really nice (and easy to handle), and the look is very chic. I like the color variation when it is scratched off. The only thing I think would be nice is if the US had states broken down, at least for the American sold maps. It is quite the accomplishment to travel internationally, but domestically is also fun to track. My sister is a 27 year old, and she still finds it just as amusing as my older mother. Saw this map a new I immediately had to have it. Lucky for me I found it on one of my reviewers groups. I was so elated to have gotten it at a discount. This did not change my opinion or a review for this map. When I got this map I could immediately tell it was high-quality it is not thin it has great thickness to it. It has been so much joy and pleasure to scratch off the areas that I have traveled to with my family and with my friends. I now see just how far in the world I have yet to go. you cannot go wrong with this one! The color contrasts truly helps view where you have been and may still want to go to.
