Simply put, Ms. Cooper captures the fun, work, and satisfaction that comes from raising pigs. I believe that this is the definitive work on the subject as it is easy to read and full of practical information.

Farrowing is a pretty large part of raising hogs and aside from an explanation of the word it’s only rarely used. Surely a “complete” book on raising pigs would cover farrowing. It had some good information but…

Bought book as a gift for a young family member who wants to go self sufficient. He wants to raise pigs. He said it was just what he needed to learn about it

Really good book for raising pigs
I never raise any pigs before this book. I never seen anyone do it either. I wasn't raise on a farm and had no idea what I was doing but this book saved my life. There is information about everything you need to know to raise pigs at home. This is not for commercial raising but it is more focus on small scale pig raising. This book gave me all the tool I needed to start my own small scale operation. I've been raising pig for 3 years now and I'm still refering to this book every year.
