Sprouts superbly!
I very successfully sprouted Rani urad, moth, and mung beans together. Picture of 2/3 Tbs each of them in a wide mouth mason jar after 4 1/2 days of sprouting(they will be ready for harvest in another day) following an overnight soak. This is an absolutely perfect combo, they look, and taste great together!Edit: I’m adding a picture of them after harvest the next day, also, the jar was so full I’m trying 1/2 Tbs each instead of 2/3 Tbs each.

Fast and delicious
After trying Dishoom's black daal dish a year ago (it's a restaurant in London, and a signature dish, google it!), I have been making a home version of their daal in an instant pot. I sought out the urad / black daal previously, made a special trip to a local indian store to buy them. Those 2 lbs were quickly consumed as this recipe is fabulous. I needed more daal, but every time I stopped by the local Indian grocery, they were closed (late opening, some weekdays they were closed...). Amazon came to my rescue - they looked good, cooked up fine, no small stones found (you're supposed to check before cooking in general). Tasty, glad I bought this!

Not fresh
I soaked this dal for a very long time but half of the dal didn’t soak any water. It soaked for a total of 48 hours but only half of it is edible. I have seen this before with very old dal but this one doesn’t expire for more than 2 years. It seems like some old dal was reworked into fresh stuff. The beans that managed to absorb water tasted good, but I had to spend a lot of time picking out the bad ones. I guess you get what you pay for. Next time I’ll spend a little more for some premium dal.

So delicious
Just getting into lentils and these are delicious. Great to throw in a crock pot with broth and seasoning. Cook low and slow until you get a bean like consistency and they are amazing!
