Even better than expected!
O.....M.......G! I wish I'd bought this stand alone burner AGES ago. It heats up REALLY fast... even faster than the electric coil stovetop installed in my house. The lack of traditional coils makes any slops & spills easy to clean up because there's no deep crevices for food to fall into & I can pan fry my home-raised duck eggs to perfection at just a titch past setting #1. My stove has to be turned to setting #3! I like the indicator light that alerts you to when the unit is on & the light indicating the burner has achieved the set temp is a really nice feature. I'm truly impressed with this unit & now use it more than my stove!

Quality Burner That Works Well For Years
I bought this on March 14, 2018. I am writing this review on April 7, 2024. I have used this extensively over the years, primarily when traveling and staying in hotels. I am using it today and decided to buy a second one so I will have two burners. This is so useful for cooking in any hotel room, and I even use it at extended stay hotels that provide their own stove burners, because this one does a better job, plus I know how the temperature settings interact with the food, which can be a learning process when working with an unfamiliar stove. I'm glad I purchased this quality burner because it has held up well over the years. It's working just as well now as it did when I first got it. It's very easy to use and works great. I added a Command cord holder on the back left side to wrap up the cord when it's not in use.

Cuisinart CB-30P1 Cast-Iron Single Burner, Stainless Steel
What can I say? It's a Cuisinart! Yes, I am sold on Cuisinart products! They have not failed me yet! (I've had my blender/food processor/chopper since 1990, and it is still going strong!) I needed a 2nd table-top burner. When I saw this one, (even though I could have gotten a cheaper one) , I knew this would be the better purchase. I have bought Cuisinart products in the past and have been very pleased with my purchases. The quality and performance alone is worth it to me! This burner has a normal weight, not too heavy, it is as described. 😁 It's definitely worth every cent! The only draw back is that I got the chrome top, instead of black. Chrome (for me) is harder to keep clean than the black. 😁. That was my mistake, not the fault of Cuisinart. 😁 It does clean up well, it just takes a little more work. 😁.It is not a self shut off unit, that I am aware of. However, whenever I cook anything, and it's about done, I will TURN OFF the burner 5-10 minutes before the food is done. Yes, it takes that much time to cool down.I use this almost every day. It is a whole lot easier to clean up than my ceramic top stove, and I think it uses less electric (110 amps) instead of my Ceramic top electric stove (220 amps). And this burner take LESS time to heat up than my ceramic top stove. The cooking is more efficient, too, in terms of say, chicken n Noodles. I can not make this dish on my ceramic top, as it fluctuates in temperature, trying to maintain an even temp. It is that "shut down" time, (temp fluctuating) that causes my noodles to become tough, instead of fluffy. This Cuisinart table top burner maintains the temp (like a coil burner) and my noodles come out perfect!) 😅I am thinking about getting a 2nd one. Sometimes I need 2. I had another brand (for about 6 mos. before it died. 😞. Another well known name, but the product did not hold up.I am definitely buying another Cuisinart table top burner!

It works
This hot plate is very heavy, fully sealed and takes a long time to heat up. It's really better if you wait for the "ready" light to light up green before you start cooking on it. I found it doesn't hold the heat/temp for a good amount of time but will take hours for it to cool off enough to put away. For the money spent... I don't feel it's really worth it. The brand name should be enough to want it but... no. This is my stove (I don't have one in my makeshift kitchen.. don't judge!) So I'm not real sure if I would purchase again or not.

Cuisineart my kitchen
Item arrived despite box damaged. Item was intact and works. Heats up food faster than most brands. Option for when don't have a stovetop oven (reason why brought it as my other plug in burner went after many years of using it) and minimal counter space.would buy this again.

Works perfectly.
Been using this for a couple of years now. It takes a while to heat up, but it works very well.
