Q: What color looks best?

I gave the lighter one as gifts for Christmas. The guys loved them and they look great. I have a nephew that has both. I am partial to the light color myself. I think it is just a matter of preference. These are, by the way, great quality.

Q: is this really much better that those half the price ?

I think it's better. The material is thicker. The size is bigger by at least another 1.5 or 2 inches. It also feels softer. I hope that answered your question.

Q: Should you iron your Shsmagh?

Why on earth would you? I have never heard of anyone doing that but i guess you can iron just about anything on a super low setting... Good luck.
