Don't let the bed bugs bite!
I have had a trauma. My husband and son stayed at a Hilton Suites in Waco, TX and brought home bedbugs! It was the most disgusting experience of my life. Sparing you the heebie-jeebie details, I will simply convey how I KNOW SureGuard products work. When I found we had been invaded by these tick-related vermin, I pulled back the sheets and mattress cover (while screaming) down to the SureGuard mattress protector I had previously zipped onto our mattress. One of the features of SureGuard's mattress protector (yes, I know, this is a review for their pillow guards, but this demonstrates the quality of their product) are tabs that cover where the zipper meets the fabric. Not all mattress guards do that. THERE I found (oh! the perpetual bad flashbacks!) numerous bedbugs that were clustered, as if trying to get *beneath* the tab so that they might enter the mattress. Perhaps being under the tab made them feel more hidden (shudder-shudder). Whatever the reason, clearly they couldn't get past the tab-secure. Ha! Ha-ha! (yes, I've lost my mind a little over the infestation....)These PILLOW protectors also have a VERY secure zipper that closes snugly right up to the fabric - no space for the hateful creatures to penetrate. Furthermore, when I hired professionals to rid us of the nightmarish pests, they told me to buy *only* COTTON protectors, not plastic ones which will eventually rip. You've probably guessed by now that these babies are cotton.Buy SureGuard and sleep soundly. (It took me several months of jumping at every nighttime sensation on my skin, but I'm now sleeping again. SureGuard is part of the reason why).PS - If you have the enormous misfortune to bring home bed bugs (and this can happen at ANY hotel merely by putting your suitcase on the lobby floor or your room's carpet!), email me here and I'll tell you how to get rid of them....SureGuard is just *part* of the solution. But an essential one.

If i could return I would
It doesn't breath at all. It literally creates a pocket of air around the pillow you have to deal with everytime you lay down. Super annoying and if I could return for a refund I would.'smooth' cotton feel is also a major overstated since its a smooth but course feeling material. Oh well, money down the drain.

Horrible Chemical Smell
I would rather be allergic to my old pillows than to sleep on this cover! A horrible Chemical smell even after washing. I returned them.

Total fail
I put this on a feather pillow. Within a week a feather from inside the pillow was pushing out their the seam of the encasement. If this encasement couldn’t keep in a feather from a pillow i had NO confidence it could contain a bed bug 1/3 the size of a feather! I threw them out and bought different encasements.

Excellent Dog bed for Incontinent dog!
I bought this set of pillow cases for my small (but incontinent) older dog who I love dearly. Turns out older spayed female dogs often develop this problem. She pees in her bed when she's sleeping & doesn't even realize it. Never pees in the house, always asks to go out, but apparently now has little control over her bladder. So, these pillow cases are perfect to protect her bed from urine, since it can't really be washed (I sprayed the bed with Scotch guard) I stuff the pillow case with an old twin bedspread to make a mattress pad, and tuck inside her bed. When she pees on it, I simply take the stuffing out of the pillow case, wash/dry & re-stuff it. Having 2 pillow cases is perfect, since I can alternate the clean one while the other one gets washed. This way I'm not washing everything, except when she hits the blanket ;( but oh well...this is an improvement & much cheaper than waterproof dog beds.

Definitely not waterproof
Using these on my toddlers bed. Every day his pillow is damp. I got these so I wouldn’t have to wash the pillow every day. I’m still washing it every day. The pillow is just as wet as the pillow case.

Pillowcase ripped at first wash
One of the two pillowcases ripped at the first wash before use. The quality for the price seemed cheap and the pillow cases sounded crinkly when on the pillow. I was surprised by the quality based on the stars this product has received. I will be looking for a better product to replace this one, I won't buy again.

Works well, good product but could be improved for bedbug battles
First of all, let me say that I don't think there exists a pillow protector that I would rate five stars so keep that in mind. Here's the reason, I needed something to help deal with bedbugs that spilled over from a seriously infested neighbor (I live in a multi-unit building and share a wall and a hallway with the guy), worst experience ever. The reason for no 5th star is that to kill bedbugs and their eggs you have to dry on high heat or expose to heat some other way, these covers/protectors cannot be dried on high. So yes, these protect my pillows wonderfully so my pillows are clean, but now how do I clean the covers to protect the covers from bugs? Dilemma. I realize there probably doesn't exist a cover that is waterproof and safe on high in the dryer so given my options these are fine.We have feather pillows that we couldn't run through the dryer so we bought these. Sleeping with no pillows for the first week was no fun and I am grateful for these as we can use our pillows and know that if anything was in there, it's staying in there.I don't care for the terrycloth texture though because (and this is bug-specific) the rough texture is more appealing to bugs and harder to thoroughly inspect. The terrycloth texture is comfortable but sadly comfort is not my main concern right now. So, if you're battling bugs these are a great option but I might suggest something with a smoother fabric surface. For any other uses, these would work wonderfully.
