Soon To Be Your Favorite Coloring Book!
I'm a huge fan of adult coloring book, my collection is getting pretty out of hand haha.... that said I could NOT resist this book from Jasmine Becket-Griffith! I find Jasmines style so unique and fun, she is easily one of my favorite artists of the moment! You may have seen her work without knowing it if you've been to Disney Parks!! This is where I first was introduced to her lovely style and I'm now a huge fan!The book itself is incredibly sturdy and well made with thick front / back cover and pictures that havent got that dreaded see-through effect. The book is themed towards Halloween, yet I can see myself coloring this any month and any day of the week. The pages are story driven, well thought out and images are quite detailed. I like to color in "spurts" and rarely can accomplish an entire picture in one sitting, but no matter I find such enjoyment from the level of creativity her work inspires.I really enjoy coloring faces, hair and clothing so this is just my taste... I like putting makeup on the faces and creating unique looks between all the characters in her coloring books. Yes I did say "books" I own multiple by jasmine and I can't wait until she puts out more! I would happily scoop up anything she put out :) This is a wonderful gift item as its waaaaay more sturdy and substantial than other flimsy books. This is a book you could place on a coffee table, the cover art is gorgeous. With tons of pages and huge detail its a no brainer, you want this book!! If you want more inspiration or ideas on her work, she has a coloring facebook page where everyone displays their coloring pages, the community is so nice and supportive plus everyone is at varying levels of coloring so no shame in being a beginner like myself.

Beautiful and Evocative Halloween Inspired - designs printed on one side of heavyweight non-perforated paper
The media could not be loaded. I purchase quite a few fantasy art coloring books but the ones that top my list both in subject and in quality are those by Jasmine Becket-Griffith. Her gorgeous girls have large eyes are so expressive and they simply call to me. The art is beautiful and the publishing of the book is, once again, outstanding. There are 46 pages of Halloween inspired designs filled with 55 different images. There are 43 full page designs and three pages which include 4 each smaller designs. As with her first book, I find it interesting to get the smaller ones and I appreciate that by doing the publishing this way, I get more to color. In fact, the only problem I have with the book is it is so good, I want more. Hopefully, there will be future coloring books in this fantastic series. The designs are on the right hand side of the book. On the sheet opposite (which is the backside of the previous design), the artist ha provided the name of the artwork and when it was created and for what purpose. She then gives us some background information as to how and why she created the artwork the way that she did. I appreciated this in the first book and am glad to see it once again. This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the paper. I will list, in the comments section below, the coloring medium I used to test this book and with which I usually color my projects.46 pages and 55 Halloween inspired fantasy designsPrinted on one side of the pageDesign information is printed on the back side of the pagePaper is heavy weight, cream color, slightly rough and non-perforatedThe book has a detached dustcover (inside and attached cover are both left blank.)Sewn binding (easily to remove several pages at a time by snipping threads)Designs have a framing line around the outer edgesAlcohol-based markers bleed through the paperweightWater-based markers, India ink pens and gel pens did not bleed through. Gel pens required a bit more drying time.Colored pencils work well with this paper. I was able to get good color and to get deeper pigment by layering the same color. I found that I could layer multiple colors well and easily blend using a pencil style blending stick. This was the case with both oil and wax-based pencils.I am using my alcohol-based markers with pencils for detail work and shading. Because of this, I use a blotter page of card stock under my working page. It keeps ink from seeping through to the page below.

Beautiful coloring book!
Product: I am very happy that I ordered this coloring book Definitely worth the price. I paid for it. I love how the art is done for coloring and that there is enough space to really put your own twist on each picture with different colors. I will definitely be ordering more of her coloring books.Delivery: it really would’ve helped if it had not been thrown at our door. This coloring book is not a cheap one and thankfully the pages are not bent but with the position of the way it landed they very well could have been. Amazon, please remind your delivery drivers not to just throw orders at doors.
