Happy Boots
Over a year ago I bought the Nortiv8 hiking boots to replace my worn out but beloved Mont Belle light hikers. At the behest and often to the chagrin of my four legged hiking companion I put many miles on these newest boots. I have had zero issues with them, and notwithstanding the dog's occasional moaning when she saw me put them on, I can offer NO complaints. The boots are still comfortable, they still look kinda new, and no, they still don't breathe well. But they are a great value, a superior $40 boot with so much to brag about. I hike. Call me crazy, but I change socks along the way. And with the Nortiv8 I have no compunction about putting in lots of 3 season miles in either the Whites, Berkshires or the Adirondacks. So when I felt I needed a hiking shoe that was more robust than a sneaker it was an easy choice. I bought the Nortiv8 shoes. Same fit, same comfort, same quality build, same sure-footed traction. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke .... It ain't broke, so I stuck with the proven brand. My only wish is that the mutt were still here to enjoy more miles together. She would have been so happy.

A bit narrow but was able to expand them to fit very comfortably.
Purchased waterproof hiking shoes for my dog walking business. I often find myself in heavy rain or puddles while walking dogs. So far they have been very durable and have kept my feet dry. The shoes seems to breath well as well as keep my feet warm. As for stiffness it’s a moderate level feels more like I’m wearing running shoes. I did remove the cushioning insole and replaced it with my orthotics. But for a aversion person who has no foot issues the insole cushion will work fine. Surprisingly I’ve stood in many water conditions from moving water to puddles haven’t slipped yet.

Greart boots, great price!
This is my second pair of Nortiv 8 hiking shoes. They are well built, waterproof and comfortable. I appreciate the larger toe box. I've been buying Merrills for years, but not any more!

Damn good shoes
I wasnt sure about getting these shoes at first. I have problems with my feet and usually sneakers are all that keep me comfortable. But sneakers don’t always cut it when hiking. I read the reviews and decided to give them a shot. Boy, am I glad I did! I am very pleased! Not only are they comfortable, but they are wearing great. I have probably put 100 to 150 miles of hiking on them and they still look and feel good. The tread is still thick and the uppers are holding up just fine. I’m sure if I washed them they would look new again. I have hiked on a lot of different terrain and not slipped or got wet feet. I will definitely buy another pair of these when I finally wear them out. The laces were long enough ( some reviews complained they were too short) but I didnt get a second pair of them like some reviews said. I highly recommend these shoes! Great price for a good pair of shoes. I have seen a good bit of the Appalachian Trail because of these shoes!

Durable & Comfortable But Not Waterproof
These are decent, chunky hiking shoes. Reasonably comfortable. Seem durable. I've been using them outdoors for months, both hiking and dog walking. My only complaint is they aren't waterproof. More like "water-resistant." If I'm walking for long in wet morning grass, my socks get soaked. So, it's false advertising to call them waterproof.

Well-constructed, Comfortable Hiking shoes at a Good Price
I have been wearing Keen hiking shoes now for a few years. I was a bit skeptical about buying these Nortiv8 hiking shoes on Amazon as I was not familiar with the brand. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality construction and durability of these shoes, so far it turns out to be a pretty good decision! With the price of similar hiking shoes two times the price of these, I figured I would take a chance, and if they fell apart or wore out in a few years, I would still be happy! The shoes’ fit was perfect for my seemingly wide feet, as they slip right into the shoes with no pressure points.I'm happy to say they seem to be well-built. They are comfortable, as I was able to wear them for several hours while doing yard work in my large 2-acre yard without any issues. They also have some cushion in the insoles, which really helps when going for a nice walk on a park trail, or a short hike in the nearby mountains. These Nortiv8s also have a large toe box, which feels good for my feet and toes. For each pair of hiking shoes, Nortiv8 also includes a 2nd pair of shoe laces – a nice touch! They also seem to be heavier than my Keen hiking shoes, and slightly bulkier. One thing that kind of bugs me is their shoe laces – they are several inches too short. If I put the laces in the top holes, I can barely tie them – maybe I shouldn’t use the top holes (?). I definitely cannot use a double knot that I like to use before I go hiking. The tongue on these shoes is quite thick, and the shoes also feel a bit clunky – but perhaps they just need to be ‘broken in’ some (as their website suggests). But these are small complaints when considering the price, comfort, and the quality of the shoes.I haven’t yet tried to see how ‘waterproof’ they are yet, but if I have any issues, I will just clean them off and spray them with the 3M boot waterproof protection I have (I did this with my Keen hiking shoes and it made them look a little darker (an enhancement!) but it worked perfectly! Please note that on the Nortiv8 website, there are details on how the hiking shoes should fit, what socks to wear, and how to break-in these shoes – very helpful!I would recommend these shoes as of now, so pick up a pair and you shouldn’t be disappointed. I'll update my review if something goes wrong with the shoes over the long term, but for now, I am very happy with this purchase.
