This step stool is very sturdy and feels secure. It's easy to fold and unfold, so it doesn't take up much storage space but is convenient to use. The handle is a good height to hold onto while stepping up and down, and is a perfect height for me to reach those upper cabinet shelves.

I went thru 2 dozen descriptions of iffy Chinese shacky ladders! I am a overweight retires US electrician. I am not about in my retirement ti fall off a ladder? And, die or be cripppled with a broken hip?Like most tradesmen, I trust the proven brand. I was not disappointed, sturdy, well made & of course a little hefty but how else do you make it safe? Yes, the Rubbermaid cleats on the ends of the ladder clinched it for me! I opted for the tool tray version in case I did't need my tool belt. The same price as the cheap junk ladder but you get peace of mind & safety! I'm impressed with Rubbermaid commitment to quality from my Mom's old food containers to decades later of superior products!

I bought this to replace a cheap, plastic folding step which provide no support. If you want a sturdy, high quality step stool that's very easy to use, this is the stool. It give a petite person just enough height to reach taller shelves. I use it in my laundry room and it collapses neatly between my washer and dryer. I also appreciate it's powder white metal and non-slip gray base. Finally, it doesn't seem to have any pinch points. I'll be ordering more.

Exactly what I needed. Sturdy, folds tight and locks into place. Those who say it's heavy....that's because it's sturdy and well built!!

Nice quality step ladder. It’s very stable - not at all rickety. The only downside is the weight which is considerable for a general use interior ladder. That appears to be the only obvious downside to the ladder. I took off a star because of the weight. Even my daughter thought it was very heavy. I like 3 step ladders because the second step is more stable than the 2nd step on a 2 step ladder. The weight will keep it more stable than the lightweight ones so it’s a tradeoff. I would have given it 4.5 stars if it was available . I didn’t think it would be that heavy so I didn’t bother to compare weights of different ladders on Amazon - so basically mostly my mistake.

I have to say this step stool is everything I've been searching for in a step stool. It's quite tall, I'm 5'4" and the top of my head is an inch from my ceiling when I'm on the highest step. Yet it's still compact enough to store easily (we store ours in that small gap between the fridge and cupboards). It's lightweight enough that most women and children 10 and up should be able to maneuver it with ease. The step stool seems to be constructed well, seems very sturdy, and you can feel it lock into place adding an extra sense of security, oh and don't forget the grip bar at top just incase you start tipping back and need to grab ahold. Now, to my favorite feature the project tray which includes a mini storage box to hold all those little necessities you find yourself having to go up and down for on every project...no more getting down to pick up the screw you forgot or dropped, no more having to search every where for the nails you just had before climbing up, and no more having to locate screws and nails before starting your project since they will already be with the step stool locked in securely at the top waiting and ready to go!! The project tray also has a spot for a large paint can and holes to hold screw drivers during project. Let me tell you what a great feature and real time saver not to mention how much frustration and stress it eliminates! My only dislike is that its a little stiff to up open and fold up, however I'm sure with a few uses it will loosen up and if not its nothing a little WD-40 can't handle but I'm sure it won't come to that. All n All I absolutely love it and would highly recommend to anyone in need of a step stool for around the house, garage, yard, or office to invest in the Rubbermaid RMS-3T 3-Step Steel Step Stool with Project Tray!

This step stool exceeded expectations. It is so compact and thin when folded, able to be stored in small spaces. Our home lacks storage, but this step ladder slid right into a small crack between our refrigerator and wall. A perfect location for reaching into high cabinets!It is very sturdy and feels safe to stand on, even while shifting your weight. A lever must be pulled to close the step stool once it is opened, adding another layer of security when in use.The material is a heavy metal, which contributes to the sturdiness. That being said, it is heavier than expected, making it a little more difficult than anticipated to move around the house quickly and easily.I expect that this product will last a long time. I would definitely recommend!
