Q: While it says you can't use while playing music on the speakers... has anyone tried and if so what kind of sound comes through?

There is absolutely a significant drop in sound quality if you play your music through these covers. There is a very muffled sound - I actually turned the covers around and opened the zipper just to expose the speaker grill but leave the top covered and protected from the sun.

Q: what are the dimensions of these covers?

Speaker covers will fit speakers that are 4.9 inches in width, 4.9 inches in depth, 6.5 inches in height. There is an image showing the dimensions. Thank you, Ariel

Sure they do. The covers are made from 600D material which is a little like the material used for sports bags and BBQ covers. It is water resistant and will handle humidity. Thank you, Ariel Customer Care

Q: Is it waterproof as opposed to weatherproof? Can it handle a day or so of rain and not hurt the speaker?

The material is 600D polyester which is the same material ski bags and wet gear bags are made of. So that part can handle water no problem. Having said that, the zipper we provide for mounting on speaker stands, is actually a more sensitive area. We had no issues and some rain is fine, but an intensive water treatment would not be a good idea. I would call this level of cover water resistant. Thank you, Ariel Customer Care

Does the job

Does the job but wouldn’t fancy it in a heavy shower !This is used under a wooden gazebo to make life easier than taking the Sonos in every day , works well but it is under cover.

Meh. not great.

Had high hopes - but not great. Hard to get on and off - not a snug fit. No hole for cord. Just not a terribly well-designed product. It was only $12 so I guess I can’t complain. But this could be a really good product with a few minor adjustments.

UPDATE: I've had this cover for 3 years now, and it STILL holds up to sun, rain, etc. Great to see that some things are still quality made!!This cover has saved my sonos1 from the summer sun and rain. Sound is still fine through the cover. Not distorted or muffled that much. Would recommend.
