These are Juniors Size
I should start off by saying that I really like these shorts and the only reason I have anything negative to say about them is because of the fit/ sizing issues that I'm having . Unfortunately I have to return these XL shorts because they are too small. I ordered these because the title said they were Womens, not Juniors. But they are Juniors (the tag in the ahorts says so). It's frustrating because some of the XL shorts from this brand fit me and some are too small. I assumed that the ones that are too small are juniors and the ones that do fit are womens (that's why I specifically ordered the ones from this listing, because it said they were womens). I don't know if the womens XL are actually bigger than the juniors XL, or if now the XLs are just smaller than they used to be, or maybe different colors are made by different factories and that is the reason the different sizes? Whatever the reason, I am bummed out because I like these shorts.

Exact replaement of ones I had for years
I have had a pair of these for YEARS and when the elastic waist finally wore out I looked at the tag inside and went online to search for more. VOILA - there they were on Amazon! One caveat, i thought it odd that my pair said size XL and I usually order a M. So, I ordered an XL...BIG mistake. Apparently I have had these so long that my XL was a children's size. Exchanged them for a M and they are just right. Did not need 2 pair since I think they might last just as long as the first ones, but I could always give them as a gift. Nice red, soft, elastic waist, perfect for me shorts. Recommend!
