This switch is the answer to your prayers if you have a land line phone, but need to turn it off and on.....an example is the baby's room, where you don't want the baby to be awaken by the phone when sleeping. Please note that this switch disconnects only one of the four wires on the telephone cord, however it works as advertised.

I received an excellent specialty telephone for a gift. Telephone quality is great but it did not have an off switch for the ringer. Instead of unplugging it each night, I bought this adapter and it works perfectly. It also comes with a female to female connector for easy installation. No need to buy one separately. Now I just flip the switch when I want the ringer off and end of the problem.

Worked fine for about five weeks but after that nothing but breakup and static when turning it back on.
