Awesome hitch!
Was disappointed when it was delivered as the box was all but destroyed and I thought some parts might have fallen out, but to my surprise there was no damage and no missing parts. Installation is actually easy, but not if you try to read the directions. Once you install one, the 2nd would be simple! If you know someone that has one, have them walk you through it cause its way easier than whats in the directions. I have a 2011F250diesel and a 2017 Forest River XLR toy hauler and it works great with my set up. Had to run the hitch up pretty high with the "L" receiver block upside down. That kept the heavy tongue weight from dropping my truck (OEM suspension) more than 2". Played with the chains till I got the weight distribution bars parallel to the frame at 5 links. The anti sway bar takes some learnin' as well, just dont leave it at "full" "braking" on sharp turns as it will literally rip the ball base right off the trailer frame. I loosened the lower bolt from the "factory" setting so I can full lock the upper lever which appears to be correct. I also loosen the lever once I leave the highway and tighten it as we get ready to get on the highway. that way I can maximize the anti sway and it seems to work very well at highway speeds. Would definitely buy this set up again. Only thing that would make it better is a "shocker" hitch setup.

Bit tough to install but works great.
The only unpleasant surprise was that setting the ball angle (insures correct weight distribution) requires putting 260 ft-lbs of torque on 2 bolts and that requires a special torque wrench which was difficult to find. So I paid a local Camping World ~$300 to install this hitch and show me how to use it. That was money well spent. The written instructions that came with the hitch were pretty useless and their online videos weren't much better. I'm an Engineer and figured it out but my Torque wrench only goes up to 150 ft-lbs and I couldn't find one that could go to 260 locally. That and I figured it was worth having someone experienced with this hitch give me a lesson on it. It's more complicated than a standard hookup but not too bad, easy enough and worth the added stability while towing.

Just awesome!! A real beast.
Built like a brick outhouse - heavy duty and heavyweight. Installed on GMC Sierra 1500 and 26' Sunset Trail trailer. Bumper measured 20" above level ground, and sagged to 13" with trailer attached and weight distribution not in place (see picture). Once the unit was full installed and adjusted the "sag" notes measured 19" - yup, only 1" drop. Install was easy, but note the drill size for installing the screws into the trailer rail ( for the sway control ) is not a common size found in most drill kits, and drilling the rail isn't quick and easy. Be sure to drill smaller pilot holes and work your way up. AND, the screws can easily be snapped if using an impactor to install. One other note - even if you're experienced with weight distributing hitches read the instruction for adjusting the chain tension. Having an electric tongue jack makes it easier as several trips up and down may be needed to get it right. Don't be shy about using the jack to lift the tow vehicle - this is the key step in getting it to work best.

Nice hitch but NOT what is pictured!
This is a nice hitch for the price. Easy set up and works well. I have a 1/2 ton silverado and only dropped 2" towing a 29 foot camper. BEWARE that this does not come with the sway control or a ball despite it showing in the picture. The model pictured is a Camco 48069A not the 48059 that you are buying. I checked the description and everything and nothing states that it doesn't come with the sway control.

My butt no longer puckers
I researched all the brands, talked with multiple RV owners and mechanics, and went back of forth on several before I settled on this one. The biggest reason I decided with this one is the price. It is about $300 cheaper than most of the others. The low cost did concern me at first for such and important unit, but I am highly impressed with its quality. I have 2007 Toyota Seqouia with 6200lb max tow weight and a 700lb tounge capacity. I have 29ft travel trailer with a 4740lb dry weight and a 486lb tounge weight. Needless to say, I'm pushing the limits. I towed it a few times without this hitch and it did it.....it struggled and made my butt pucker, but it did it. After installing this, my butt no longer puckers. I did think the instructions could have been a little more clear. I had to phone a friend to clarify some things for me. I also don't like how the sway bar makes a God awful noise when I'm turning. Other than those things its fantastic.

Hitch work well with F250 and 9600 GVWR Travel Trailer - Needs lower Shank though
This hitch is "old technology" but works very well. I used this to to tow my 9800 GVWR trailer (640 tongue) with a 2109 F250. Only issue was the adjustable shank did not go low enough for my application, so I had to buy a longer (read lower) shank. This is a trailer /truck combination issue that will vary so, it may not be a problem for others. Actually on my '06 Dodge MegaCab 2500HD, the stock shank is a perfect height. Installation was easy but make sure you have large sockets and/or open end wrenches because you will need them to assemble. Installing the anti-sway tension bar was easy for me, just make sure you have a new drill bit to make your life easier! Overall easy install and happy with the performance. Caveat....this helps for my scenario where the truck is properly sized for the trailer and the trailer is not overloaded AND weight is distributed properly. There is no cure for tow rigs that are overloaded or trailers that are overloaded or there is too much weight in the back (or front). I can tow my rig without the equalizing hitch safely. I have the hitch to take what little sway I have out and to ensure I have enough weight on the front tires for safe emergency stopping. Its a helper...not a fix.

This is a well made heavy duty hitch! It must be installed correctly to get the max benefit so do read and you tube when installing. Good Buy👍

Very easy to install

I bought this hitch a few months back when the price was low, and have only just now got around to installing it. I'll say I'm pleasantly surprised! The instructions that come with this hitch are very detailed and makes installation as easy as possible. As for how the trailer now tows, it's much better then it was with a plain old tow bar. The sag on the truck is minimal (1 1/2") and although I haven't installed the sway control bar, the sway has already greatly reduced in windy conditions. Overall I'm very happy with the quality and performance of this hitch and would definitely recommend it to anyone pulling a trailer.

The hitch worked well for weight distribution, the best way to start the installation is to have it almost level and work back from there. The anti-sway bar attachment seemed to be poorly designed. The handle that allows it to slide freely is cumbersome and too long. I will cut it off and use a socket and ratchet to tighten instead. I also found the anti-sway bar to be quite noisy (growling and groaning) when cornering so I removed it temporarily. I will reinstall it if I’m going to tow the unit on the highway.
