3" Insect and Rodent Model PVS-IS3 Replaces Inefficient Cap and Guard Covers

Had a difficult time pulling the trigger on this item as it is expensive given the simple nature of the product. Looked around and couldn't find a viable alternative and considered making my own for roughly 1/3 the cost but decided in this case that my time was more valuable than the price savings given the number of projects I'm currently working on. Used this screen in the 2" inch pvc pipe that is an inlet for the blower for an advance treatment unit of my septic system. Given the blower is $800 dollars on its own I wanted this screen as the first step in keeping stuff out of the tight tolerance of the blowers impeller, along with 2 additional layers of air filtering. The product is high quality and fit perfectly into the 3x2 reducer on the 2" air intake pipe, didn't want to restrict air flow so used the reducer instead of ordering a 2" screen. Happy with the purchase but if there was a less expensive alternative I would likely have purchased the less expensive item.

These are super high quality. The easy installation provides a very secure fit. I used the fine mesh for the intake and the larger mesh for the exhaust on my high efficiency gas heater. The large mesh is required on the outlet to prevent water vapor in the exhaust gas from freezing and obstructing the exhaust.

Looks better than a plastic insert and has better air flow. Small pests shouldn't be able to get past it.

Seems a little pricey but works well for blocking PVC intake and exhaust for high efficiency boiler. Installed with silicone adhesive and used the clips as temporary support until it set. Nice craftsmanship overall.

Easy installation and perfect fit.

Great product! Exactly what I needed for my heating system's outdoor exhaust pipe. The screen that was installed with my system years ago corroded, and this screen was way cheaper than having an HVAC tech out to my house to do just a few minutes of work. I'll be getting the rodent version as well for the months that the heating system runs and use the insect version only in the warmer months.

Fits into the 3" fitting perfectly. Snap to install.

Yes, It is a nicely designed product and seems high quality, but the price is a bit outrageous for a little steel screen.
