New favorite travel pant! Dark colors are great, White IS see through!
7/2017: I'm updating my original review after several wears. I find the material is not to the quality I expected. I now have several snags for just normal wear, you really have to be careful to not rub up against anything. Why the snags don't run, it's still a snag. They are also pilling in the crotch. I used a sweater shaver to de-pill but it's only going to continue and eventually wear through. While I don't think it's noticeable to others, it's noticeable to me and I'm not a fan of spending money on clothes that look like trash only in a few months time.Original post: These are great travel pants for summer and spring (50s). They are lightweight, pack small and keep their shape even after a few wears. I love my Anatomie Skyler pants but these are a great alternative for a fraction of the cost. They can be both sporty or dress casual. The only drawback is the brand label on the back of the hip, which you can't see from the photos. It's highly visible and shouts "sportswear" but just wear a shirt long enough. And I can't tell if the back pockets are really pockets as they are sewn tightly shut but have the interior pouch of a pocket. I have these in black and blue macaw. I tried these in a 4 and while they fit, opted to size up to 6 for a little more room at the waist. I'm 5'0" 128lbs and these hit on just above my ankle.Update, I purchased these in white. Here's the thing about all white pants, if you use white material for pockets, it WILL show thru! I don't understand why clothing manufacturers have not figured out how to sew in nude colored pockets. I am considering cutting the pockets out. If you wear nude underwear these could be great summer pants. White size 4 was too small.

Great stylish alternative to jeans, perfect for hot days
Ecstatic to have found these. Every summer I swear I'm going to find a better pant alternative to jeans that is still stylish for my travels to hot and humid places (Italy, Miami etc). I was considering the Skyler Anatomie because of a great review I read on a popular travel fashion blog, but I could not quite swallow the asking price (see for yourself: http://www.amazon.com/ANATOMIE-AS406B800-Skyler-Pants/dp/B00DZWVXGK/). I searched high and low for an alternative.Of several pairs I discovered. I chose these for the combination of price and inseam. Being short, I need to hem 99% of pants except the ones labelled cropped or ankle - and those are often full length pants on me. So I clicked buy, hoped and prayed and when these arrived - hallelujah! I'm 5'2.5, 110lbs, with a 26 inch waist and 35.5 inch hips. I ordered the size 2 in black and they are perfect! Skinny fit, but they skim my legs, instead of clinging. I have a bit of a booty and they are more clingy there, but they still look good. I have proportionally short legs so these pants are longer on me than the model. The 25 inch inseam on these come to just less than two inches above my ankle, but I like the length on me. Be forewarned if you're not into labels that the Columbia logo is more prominent than I expected from the pictures, but nothing that pulling down your shirt can't hide.

magic pants!!!!
I will never find a better summer/spring work pant...not at this price, anyway!!! Love them and have them in both navy and black in 2 different sizes. I was between sizes and have been dieting all summer. FYI musculsr thighs but thing calvesand rear 5'5 125-115#'s. Size 4 good at 122-118 and will get size 2 (117-114#'s) soon before they are sold out. Once you find your size, you don't regret buying these. So durable and look expensive. Food wipes away with damp rag & makeup too. These are my magic pants for work. I'm a psych nurse and busy but need to look professional too. I can bend and squat and not worry my pants will be an issue...no belt needed & no dreadful elastic or tie waist frumpy look here!!

Changed from original
Don't know how many out there had the original pant. They were very light weight and great for summer...they were quite thin and maybe snagged a bit but I loved them. The newer ones out today are much heavierand ripple along the seams up and down the legs.....I already have pants this weight...I'm going to keep thembecause they are good travel pants to certain places...but they are my last pair...although the original one reads they have the same material content...they are not the same....I'm so sad......please bring back the old...also they have a bit of a chemically smell.

I love this style
This is my third pair. I ordered the same size as to other pairs of different color (ordered from Columbia directly) but the black ones run a bit smaller. For other Columbia pants, I wear a size 6 or small. This pair is a size 8 and still a bit tight. I may return it for a size 10Other than the inconsistent sizing, I love this style. I am 5'1" and the length is perfect. They are the best travel pants.

cute pants, too small
Really cute pant, nice soft material, but lacks stretch...so they could provide a nice tailored look if you get the right size! (I normally wear a x-small in columbia products, I bought these in a size 2 and could barely button them)

Okay for casual use
I really like the look and feel of these pants. They are curve hugging and thin. Great for summer and bike commuting. They are fast drying. The bad: The fabric looses a significant amount of its water repellency after just a few washes (no machine drying). The fabric pilled significantly after a month of biking 1 mile to and from work everyday. The pockets are TINY.
