Changed My Life
These are not perfect, but in my opinion, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and you can't really beat the value. Pros: These panties completely changed the way I feel during that time of the month. They feel like I'm wearing regular underwear, so I FINALLY don't have to walk around with a pad in between my legs all day. My periods are super heavy, so pad and tampon are a must. With these, I only have to wear a tampon. My first time wearing them, I felt dry for hours, went to the bathroom and I was shocked to see that the tampon basically only absorbed half of what wanted to come out. The whole party was red, but it had absorbed and I never even noticed it. It never leaked. I am totally comfortable in these! Paired with Flex or a cup, these are life changers! I feel like a normal person. Oh, and they don't smell. Even when you sweat... somehow they keep the smell from escaping when you're wearing them. Complete life changers. I will never go back to pads. Cons: They are pretty noisy with leggings. I pretty much only wear leggings and these have a fairly noticeable rubbing sound when you walk. Sounds like when you wear thick panty hose. But really, no will know what it's from, so it doesn't bother me too much. Also, I have a big butt.. but these are a little loose in the butt area for some reason (not usually a problem that I have). It hasn't affected their protection against leaks, but o just feel like I gave to pull them down a good bit. All in all, not much to complain about. I love them. I am hooked on period panties now. UPDATE: (TMI alert) For reasons that are irrelevant, I ended up having to wear a pair of these all day with no other source of protection. Not a super heavy flow, but definitely not light, which is not what these are supposed to be made for. However, they worked extremely well. No leaks. In fact, unlike pads, where it runs down and then soaks in, it soaks in right away in these, so it doesn't even look (or feel) like much at all--even though I knew it was--and it never even got close to the sides of the underwear. It soaked up quickly and somehow kept me feeling dry. 1 pair, 8 hours. I felt like I was wearing regular underwear and had no problems. I have no earthly idea how these thin panties can do that. It didn't seem possible. Like I said, not a light flow, but they did, and I was amazed. So there you have it. I HIGHLY recommend these.

A layer of insurance!
These menstrual/incontinence underwear definitely get 5 stars, though there is room for improvement. Pros: ✓ Waterproof & leakproof ✓ Great (almost plus) fit, 3X = pant size 18-20 They are absolutely waterproof and leakproof. I poured a shot glass of water onto the inside liner and it held the liquid, without seeping through to the paper towel below. However, they aren't necessarily absorbent. The liquid didn't soak into the liner very quickly, but it also didn't leak through the layers. That said, these aren't intended to be worn in place of a pad/tampon/etc. but in addition to one. They're an added layer of insurance. In practical application, I've worn them for the entire span of my period. For the lightest days, you can probably get away with just the underwear (knowing you'll have soiled, but not permanently stained underwear... more on that in a minute). Heavier days and/or nights, use in addition to your normal methods to prevent stains on clothes or linens. They're really effective in this case -- when even a tampon/pad isn't enough, or if you're tired of changing sheets every morning because of leaks. What would I change? Read on... Cons: ✓ Not breathable ✓ Gray fabric liner shows soil These underwear are comfortable and not at all "diaper-like," especially after the first wash, but admittedly, they don't breathe real well. Understandably, considering their waterproof and leakproof feature. I do notice that my butt gets a little sweaty, more so than with cotton panties. And noticed it especially when not using a pad, but it's a trade-off that I can overlook for excellent leak protection. The only other thing I would change is making the heather-gray liner inside black fabric instead. The liner doesn't seem to permanently stain, but I've had to soak and pre-treat and scrub and use hydrogen peroxide to get the liner clean before laundering. If the liner were black, the soil wouldn't show and would require a lot less maintenance. I guess the upside is that I know the liner is completely clean once it doesn't show any stains. Were the liner black, I'd just wash underwear as I do any other pair and not worry about permanently staining them... but they definitely wouldn't be as clean either. All of that to say, I highly recommend these, in fact, buy two sets!

Comfortable leak-proof pantie but may not be for everyone!
These are a comfortable leak-proof pantie but may not be for everyone! I purchased these for two reasons, the first being I have a mild bladder leak issue and can't stand pads or liners for numerous reasons. The second being I have a sweat condition Hyperhidrosis which causes excessive sweat in this area. So I was looking for something that was breathable and moisture-wicking that could also handle the occasional bladder leak issue. I know this is a lot to ask for from any pantie but I had hoped these were the answer. For me, these panties are made well but not quite what I hoped for, the reasons I say this is yes they appear to be leakproof. The fabric is soft and very comfortable but the inner fabric although soft has the feel of a leak-proof mattress cover. Which I was not expecting, because of this yes the inner fabric does protect against leaks but it also does not allow your skin to breathe which in turn caused my bum and other parts to sweat even more than they already do. So for me, these panties just seem like a waste of money. As the lack of breathability, the inner fabric has wich makes an already uncomfortable sweat condition worse which just outweighs the usefulness for a bladder leak issue. With all of that said if you don't have an issue with sweating then these are a good pantie, they fit as expected, they are well made and soft and they seem like they work well for leaks or lite menstrual days. But if you are looking for something that will allow your skin to breathe while still protecting from leaks then these are not for you.

They work!
I have been wanting to try "period panties" for years because I have been trying to simplify my life to include mainly things that are practical for me and reduce my waste. I waited a couple cycles of use before writing this review. These panties are full coverage for me. For reference, I wear a size 6 in Old Navy and size 8-10 in everything else. I have lots of butt and thighs. I ordered the XL size in these panties and they are not tight and do not give me wedgies throughout the day. They come up about midrise for me and I'm slightly overweight with mom pooch from multiple kids. The actual panties are soft to touch and soft against the skin. The bamboo protection area comes up about a few inches from the top hem in the front and goes all the way up to the top hem of the panties in the back. There is a slight swishing noise at first (like a tiny windbreaker) but it seems to go away after a couple of washes. Since "heavy" is subjective, I will just explain my usage of pads and these panties. I typically use the "super" and "long" pads with "wings" when "Aunt Flo" visits. I used to change them every 2-3 hours and one change overnight for the first two days. Accidents on the sides, the front or the back happened about once at the beginning of every cycle if i didn't place the pad just right. Then my flow would decrease for the rest of the time. I tried these panties with no pads to see how effective they are. For the first two days, I changed them every 3-4 hours when I used the restroom and one change overnight. After that, I did not have to change them as often. I did, though, to be sanitary. Honestly, throughout my cycle they could have stayed on longer but I did not want to put them back on after using the restroom. Also, I have had no accidents or leaks when using these panties. I rinse them in the sink in cold water and I keep a bottle of lavender castile soap near the sink to use for handwashing them. I also keep a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide for first aid and it helps to keep these clean. For public restroom use, a woman could purchase those wet bags for cloth diapers or swimwear and throw the used panties in there to rinse out in the privacy of her home. Rinsing is super easy, just need to keep rubbing together under cold water until the water is clear. Sometimes a soak is necessary before scrubbing. I have handwashed and hang dried. I have handwashed and put into the dryer. And I have also just rinsed, sprayed with peroxide and thrown them in with my regular dark clothes in the regular washer and dryer. None of the processes have changed the performance of these panties. And all have resulted in the panties staying soft against the skin. I have purchased another pack of these so that I don't have to handwash as often. I don't plan to go back to sanitary napkins ever again! I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Very practical. Such a small investment for a huge return in my life!

Great idea with a design defect
These fit small but by buying a size up from my usual size equivalent I got the right fit. These were also a better fit than the jacquard design sold by same seller, maybe because the material is more stretchy. The idea is great and newer fabrics make it possible to have water resistance in thinner fabrics. That's what this is. An underwear which takes off the tension of staining your outer clothing during your periods. There is a design defect though. The water resistant gusset gores all the way to the back BUT ends at about middle of the crotch area. This does two things: 1. You could stain in the front. And yes, women are active doing their periods, not lying on a bed. So staining does happen in the front as much as the back. 2. The non-gusset main panty material is very stretchy so adhesive pads don't stick to it. With the gusset ending in the middle the top half of your panty pad will not stick to the panty!! That sets you up for more stains in the front. I was so thrilled by the idea that I bought eight of these panties and washed them before I realized this defect. So can't return them now :( UPDATE: Seller (Yoyi Fashions) contacted me and offered a refund to make things right. Seller's communication and refund are appreciated and I would buy from them again. I discovered after this purchase that the same seller sells panties with a longer water resistant lining. I bought these too and found them to be of good quality.

Literally changed my life.
I could not be happier with my purchase. These underwear have literally improved my life so much. I have PCOS, and I bleed a LOT when I'm in the middle of my period. I would use a super tampon and two staggered overnight pads, and I would have large gushes, or the pads would shift, and there went another pair of pants ruined, or another set of sheets stained. I was really curious about all the period underwear I have seen popping up lately, but they tended to run between $30 and $50 for a SINGLE pair, so I was hesitant to drop so much money on something that I wasn't sure I was going to like. I finally decided I would just experiment with cheaper ones until I could narrow down what I was looking for. However, these were the first ones I bought, and I'm not looking anymore because I am SO happy with these. Even with my extremely heavy flow, I can safely wear just a single tampon, because I know that when I have some leakage, the underwear will keep me from making a mess. When my first period began after I bought these, I put them on for bed with no other protection. No pads, no tampons, because my period was just getting started and was very light. I woke up in the morning to pee, and I was really upset when I pulled my underwear down and saw that my period had ramped way up overnight, because I was wearing new pajama shorts that I really liked. However, I was COMPLETELY shocked when I realized that my pajama shorts were totally dry and clean. The underwear kept everything in. As the week went on, it was more of the same! Like I said earlier, I have an abnormally heavy flow, and no matter what sanitary product I use, I have leakage. It is so relieving to not have to stress about getting to the bathroom just in time, or waking up in the middle of the night, because I know I'm going to be protected. Now I want to tell you how a typical day goes for me with these underwear. All I use is a tampon and these underwear. Once again, I have a heavier period than most, so I will leak a few times a day. When I get to the bathroom and see that the underwear have been dirtied, I simply take them off and put on a new pair - no more messy pants and underwear to try and clean and hopefully salvage. Because I will go through a few pairs a day, I've got two sets of these, and I'll probably get a third so I don't have to wash in the middle of the week. Some other things about these underwear: - The lining does not stain. After I dirtied them, I didn't bother to spot clean, since they were going to be used for my period anyway. However, when I put them in the wash, the stains came right out! I have the black ones with the gray lining. - They hold a lot, but they don't keep the wetness away from your body like a pad does. A pad tends to keep you drier than these do. So if you do leak into these, you're going to need to, at the very least, clean up with some wipes. I don't consider this a huge deal, but I thought I'd mention it. - Size up if you're flabby like me, but don't go crazy - you want them to be snug against your body. They are not the most comfortable underwear I own, because they are a little tight and my normal size was digging into my legs and abdomen. I ordered my second set a size bigger, and it was much better, but still a little tighter than I wear my normal underwear. - They are not completely silent. If I leave the house in denim shorts and I'm out and about, I don't notice any noise. But when I'm home wearing flimsier, thinner bottoms (think pajama shorts), you can definitely hear a little swishing sound. - Since I've had these underwear, I have leaked outside of them ONE TIME, just a tiny bit, because I must have been sleeping funny and the underwear shifted in a weird way and wasn't covering me anymore. I have not had a single issue with the underwear failing to absorb everything. - I have been machine washing them, no issues. - They are still shaped like a normal pair of underwear, so if you wanted to wear a pad with these, you could. I cannot stress enough how much these underwear have helped me. I used to be in the bathroom every hour or two, changing my two huge pads, changing my tampon, cleaning up whatever mess I made all over myself and my clothes. Now, the most work I have to do is putting on a clean pair of underwear. Definitely give these a try before you buy more expensive versions.

So Much Better than Thinx
I steered clear of period underwear for awhile. I have a heavier period and the whole idea of it just felt a little gross, to be honest, haha. Then I decided to try it out before an upcoming vacation -- it seemed like, if it worked, much more comfortable than pads or at least a decent overnight option. I originally went balls out and spent $40/pair on the BIG NAME brand (Thinx). I unwisely bought many many pairs and subsequently lost all the info they came with and missed the return deadline. They are worthless. Maybe they'd work for someone with almost no period who bleeds magically straight down the center of their undies every time, but for anyone with a moderate or heavy period, or who even moves at all during the day and may leak front, back, or sideways? No cigar. You'll leak. Their gusset is way short and they're thick and not breathable. I could use them as a tampon backup but they're so thick and awkward. SO I ended up on here. I figured I'd try these... after all, I got like 5x for the price of the other ones. I really wish I would have done this first (I now own many sets). These are thinner fabric, so you don't really feel like you're in a diaper or thick pair of swimsuit undies, way more comfortable! The gusset for protection goes MUCH higher in front and all the way up the back -- so you're really, actually, protected from leaks. Even at night. I've also tested them around the house for a long time, and they hold a lot. They also rinse out easy peasy in the wash, without ruining any other clothes (I don't always remember to pre-rinse them), and I have somehow had zero staining -- I was worried they'd look pretty gnarly after one use. No smell, which some folks worry about. So... all in all, these are WAY better! They do, IMO, run small. I'd order up. Not CRAZY up so you don't have decent leg hole sizing, but definitely up a size.

These underpants work for menstrual flow
These work fine but the leg holes are a little tight even for my slender legs. The pants are absorbent and reasonably comfortable. They do meet their intended purpose.
