Excellent for SMD print board assembly
I bought this primarily to assist working with surface mount components. I can manage with a head magnifier for larger parts, but have started to use 0605 sized ones and a head magnifier isn’t up to the task. 0605 parts are 1.5 x 0.8mm. I could work with even smaller parts. The twin LED lights work really well, I notice some instruments either have one light, a ring light, or none at all. These two “goose neck” lights are very bright and easily adjusted to give the right direction of light for soldering. The working height is good, although it helps to have an adjustable height work chair and a low profile print board holder, such as those advertised for use in mobile phone repair work.I use the x10 eyepieces, the x20 ones have too narrow a field of view for assembly work. Changing eyepieces doesn’t alter the focus position. The image is clear and very bright right across the field of view. The instrument is very sturdy, and not too heavy (around 5 or 6Kg).The only criticism is the grub screws holding the eyepieces are easily lost if you change eyepieces regularly and do not lock the eyepieces firmly, although the groove in the eyepieces prevents them falling out. This is a minor issue and doesn’t detract from their use.

The best, pay 5 times more for other and still won't be so good and reliable for electronics
There is not sense buy other scope even if you are rich, you won't find in the practice anything better even for ten times the price, yeah, they will have more quality but they will not better. Working area, free working heigh, size, transportability, that is what you need for soldering.10x is ok for general use, but there is a 0.5x objective that will give you 5x , it is £50, but you are done with it, the best soldering microscope you can buy and really cheap.20x is too much for soldering but useful for inspection.Don't get the 5x eyepiece it is pointless, gives the same area than 10x and keyhole effect .About qualityBest light is two gooselamp, it have it, no the best one but works.Optics, yeah is not a leica, but vision is perfect, optical quality,no aberrations, is real stereo , many zoom combinations and cheap parts. If you get bad collimation, anyone can fix it.3d effect and depth field are great, excellentMaterials, metal, and nice plastics, o industrial, not luxury, solid as a rock.Bad , no zoom wheel, but if you don't screw the optics just fast change the zoom, and anyways you will use the same zoom and optics the 90% of the time..Cameras, you can use the same camera as any simulfocal and work using a screen if you wantIf you want stereo +camera is still possible very easy with a printed adapted, even dyi with a rpi etc

Best value microscope for microsoldering!!
I bought this microscope exclusively for microsoldering. It helps me immensely. The included 10x eyepieces are perfect. You will never use 20x for soldering. I purchased a 5x pair for ~£10 but preferred the 10x. The stand is easily adjustable. The lightning is excellent. The amscope version of this microscope only comes with 1 light. Definitely recommend this if your use case is microsoldering. Don't waste money on the digital microscopes. They will do the job but you will eventually end up getting this or a HDMI mounted camera setup anyway. The support is also very good and helped me out with a few questions I had.
