This was recommended by a chef I admire. I was going to get a cheaper one, but realised it is best to go with a well known brand when the item might explode in your hand! Some of the cheaper ones had scary reviews. I would rather have an intact hand than the £25 I would have saved.

I’ve not owned a proper kitchen torch til now and after reading the reviews on this and the cheaper Chinese units I decided that I’d step up to the Japanese device. Very well made and it works marvelously. Looking forward to the many uses I will be putting it to from charring steaks and chicken skins to re-lighting added charcoal in my grill. Eff the Chinese crap.

Its a scam, this is not iwatani and the returns are not free so basically if you buy this you will get stuck with a bad quality product.
