SUNMALL Replacement Keyboard Compatible with HP 14-CK 14-CD 14-CM 14-DG 1 Black US Layout (Black Without Backlit)

This is my first time working on a laptop, ive built PCs in the past but never a laptop. TBH i was half expecting i might toast the computer, but i installed it and it works great. I have a HP pavillion 360 14m-cd-. On this model you have to completely disassemble the computer removing everything even the power button, fingerprint scanner, touch pad, screen, etc not just the motherboard battery as expected. The only problem is the center kinda sags a little, otherwise its exactly the same. TBH this is almost certainly my fault as i did not glue the keypad down, later i might do it over now that i know what i'm looking at/doing it should go more smoothly. Do it properly and glue the keypad down first to prevent that sag in the center. The plastic divots are easy to remove unlike some models u just pop up the chasis and it comes out easily vs having to cut them off. I reattached with hot glue pressed down and it works. As stated i may rebuild this time adding some crazy glue or something to keep the keypad flush then it will be like a brand new laptop. I have a battery coming in the mail to replace (it hasnt held a charge in years, its like 8 years old this lap top) so when i get that battery i'll likely do this the right way with glue. UPDATE: i seated the keyboard properly the next day and it is literally good as new. Perfect. I highly recommend this keyboard. I also replaced the dead battery and it feels like i have a brand new lap top LOL.

To replace this keyboard in the laptop it takes a little bit of doing. You have to do some plastic welding. You have to scrape off the plastic welds on the old one, put the new one in and then do some more plastic welding to get the new one to stick what I mean by scraping off the plastic welds is there are about 60 little welds that hold the keyboard in. You have to scrape off and then redo with the new one or someone like me who likes fiddling with this sort of thing It worked great. But for someone who doesn't do this sort of thing often it would be very difficult

Worked like a charm and functions better than the original part. Easy to install and lights are a plus. Wish it came with extra screws since they’re tiny and can get lost easy but with some organization and patience, it installs with ease.

Good fit and quality. Installation on my model somewhat difficult, had to remove motherboard to get to keyboard.

Feels new just like first time buying the laptop, smooth, terrific color matching! (Gray: keyboard, laptop: light grey). Saved me money from taking it to a repair shop! Exactly like the old version. Definitely recommend if your keyboards aren’t responding no more! Keep in mind that if your going to DIY, remember where the screws go, be organizable, carefulness and patience! Didn't work out of the box.. its not the easiest thing to install on a laptop so you dont really want to have to do it again but looks like im going to have to take it back apart and get a OE replacement.

The only issue is the old keyboard was held in by melted plastic posts which I had to trim off. I hot glued one corner that was loose woth no post and that worked great.
