These aren't high end optics like Nikon, Zeiss, etc., but they are excellent for the price. I carried them on recent trip to the mountains. Compact enough to be attached to my belt or web gear. They were clear enough for me to detect a person from almost a mile away, who was blended in with the trees and brushes while approaching a deer, that bunch of us didn't realize his presence until I scanned the area with my pair. They seem to be well made, proof of almost everything, light enough that for hiking and extended viewings. I compared several brands. Too bad, most well known brands are all made in China. I was willing to pay more for a good pair, but I decided on these.

I like this brand due to their reputation with firearm optics. Researching this particular pair made me confident on buying them. Unfortunately for me, I did not get them at a lower price. Felt like I paid top dollar for something that was a lot cheaper last year. All in all, still happy with them. Using primarily for the gun range. Does the job!

I just got these tonight. I always wanted to buy Leupold optics because I admired their quality & their awesome lifetime warranty. The happiness I felt at receiving a quality product was tainted by the realization that Leopold does NOT warranty these optics for the lifetime of the product, instead they are only warrantied to the original, registered owner. Apparently Leupold considers these inferior-class "green ring" binoculars & they do NOT extend their famous lifetime product warranty to this product. That honor is reserved for "gold ring" products. I never knew there was a difference. I'm happy so far with these binoculars, but as a customer I feel kind of cheated that Leupold "for some reason" hesitates to stand behind this product unconditionaly as they do their "gold ring" line. If I would have known that it may or may not have affected my decision to purchase these binoculars, but I would have definitely looked at more manufacturers before pulling the trigger. I will keep these for now, but because of Leupold hesitating to fully stand behind them as they do their "gold ring" products I will be extra vigilant in looking for any hint of defect & I see anything that so much as causes me to raise an eyebrow these are going straight back for a refund. I took off 1 star for the downgraded warranty & reserved 1 star since I haven't been able to fully evaluate them in the field. My cursory inspection tonight indicates these will be a good fit for my hunting & outdoors pursuits. I'll update this review after I've had a chance to put them through the paces & see how they stand up. I really wish these carried the full Leupold warranty. In my mind that would make them more valuable.
