Kaleidoscope Dreams by Thiciana Mandu and published by Lightburst Media is a psychadelic inspired colouring book full of retro 60s and 70s illustrations.This is a A4 sized paper-backed book which is glue-bound. It has a glossy cover and has a woman with flowers and beads in her hair surrounded by clouds, rainbows, eyes, stars and moons on the front and on the back are three thumbnails of illustrations from within the book. On opening the book you are met with a greyscale image of the front cover on the first page. All the pages are one-sided so you won’t have to worry about ruining the back if you use markers.The paper is that of Amazon Createspace; it is thin and about the thickness of decent copier paper with a bit of a tooth to it. There is a copyright page followed by an introduction, then over the page are details of where you can share your coloured pictures.There are 35 colourable illustrations that feature on one side of the page only , so you could easily use alcohol or water-based markers in the book. I would however place a spare sheet of paper behind that which you are working on as I found that even with water-based felt tips there was shadowing and bleed-through. For those who prefer pencils it takes them well too, although a bit of blending may help as the grain shows a little due to the paper having some tooth (roughness), however you can layer as much as you like.The illustrations are fun and for those who lived through the peace and love generation and hippy movement of the 60s and 70s this will be a wonderful 'trip' down psychedelic memory lane (if you can remember any of it). The illustrations are of hippie culture - rainbows, flowers in the hair, eyes, CND, stars, campervans, suns and moons all mashed up in a psychedelic swirling magic mushroom inspired mash-up. It’s a very fun book and screams out for bright and clashing colours to be used. This would be a great book for your neon pens, pencils and highlighter pens! The trippier the better, go wild! I *love* this book! The images are very trippy and beg for tons of color! The paper feels like it has a good amount of tooth and I love that the pages are one sided. I only wish the pages were perforated. They mention at the beginning that there are blank pages in the back to use in between pictures if you plan on using marker, but they don't tear out easily. I'd suggest an exacto knife if you plan on pulling pages out.

I was looking for something a little more trippy than hippy, if that makes sense. I wanted something that was weird and totally unlike what I would find at the local Wal-Mart (since the closest Barnes and Noble is too far away to justify just looking for some coloring books). This coloring book really is the best of both worlds. Pretty, but still a little odd, in a good way.

Kaleidoscope Dreams is a really gorgeous coloring book! It'spsychedelic dream like art is based on the 1960s and 1970s. I've hadfun coloring pages and reliving some memories. The art is sobeautiful that you could frame them for wall decorations. The paperquality is good and my gel pens do not bleed onto the next page.I'd definitely recommend this coloring book to others and it would make agreat gift as well. great get-well gift for my flower child mother in law. bought some fancy pencils to go with it and she is reportedly having a blast. she reports that the book was a real flash back and added "a good flashback".

Very cute has lots of unique and psychedelic pictures. I coloured some pages while tripping on LSD and that was incredibly fun.
