Samsung HW-KM36 35.8" 130W 2.1 CH Sound Bar with Bluetooth (Renewed)

I was initially skeptical about this item, not because it was refurbished but because I wanted a change in my old studio monitors and polk subwoofer (and wires were getting messy). I was deciding between this item and the Logitech Z625's. Some reviewers stated this was too weak on sound and bass, but given my new apt living room space (350 sq ft), I figured I would take a chance and put this in my living room to pair with my 55 In Samsung HDTV. I chose this item given that it is minimalist. When product arrived, setup was very quick (for anyone who is fairly tech savvy, it should be a piece of cake). OK, so I was blown away by the sound quality and design. It is indeed very slick and fits right in without clutter. It is perfect for an NYC apartment. Yes, it is not 300 watts but it does sound clean and does get fairly loud. I like that the bass is tight and no need to adjust anything on the subwoofer (the remote control settings handle it all). One tip though: If your TV has the feature, make sure to change the Digital Output to DTS or Dolby instead of PCM. It made a HUGE difference in quality (Maybe enough for me to keep this item). Also, if your TV is a Samsung, I would say all features are seamless and integrate well with this soundbar. For the price, you cannot go wrong.

I bought this refurbished Sound Bar and except for the packaging, I couldn’t tell the difference from a brand new one. However, the battery for the remote was dead so initially the remote wouldn’t work. I had a little difficulty installing the mounting brackets, interestingly enough the Samsung logo does not face outward. When the bar is mounted on the wall the logo is on the top of the bar, not facing out which threw me off. The bar does come with an optical cable so no additional trips to a store for a cable were necessary. The mounting brackets don’t come with any mounting screws to attach to the wall so I did need to get two of those. The sound is amazing over the TV’s speakers. My installation is located outside and has plenty of volume even though we live near a very busy street. Hooking up the cables was easily accomplished and the Bluetooth to the subwoofer linked without any difficulty. I have Xfiniity cable and I was able to connect to the Xfinity remote via on line directions from them. This was a big plus for me as multiple remotes are not for me. For an inexpensive sound bar I am very pleased.

Was just like new, but refurbished. Hooked up with optical. TV remote worked to control volume. Just great. Sound quality is good, this is a lower priced item - spend a few hundred more, sound quality will be great. Recommended.

Sounds great, perfect for a townhouse or condo - but only if you don't get sent a defective one. Both times I tried to purchase this item, it came defective and inoperable, missing the light grey jack cover that is needed to secure the optical cable to the sound bar (see photos for correct and incorrect input jacks). Without that tiny piece of plastic, the cable will keep falling out. Wasn't going to bother trying a third time. Ended up having to replace with the same exact model from a local store since I had already paid to have the wiring professionally installed - kinda defeats the purpose of buying off Amazon, huh?. Don't bother with this refurb.

This is a "refurbished" soundbar. It arrives in a brown carton which states Samsung refurbished. The soundbar & sub-woofer are individually wrapped and look brand new. All accessories and user manual are included. I connected the soundbar, paired it up with the wireless subwoofer and it was up & running in less tha 10 minutes. Sound quality is very good especially considering the price. I never thought that the audio from the tv's built in speakers was adequate We live in a townhouse and wiring for true surround sound was out of the question. This soundbar fits the bill perfectly. I definately reccomend it.

The sound system came well packaged and on time. The manual and all the cables were included. The hook up was simple and the sub-woofer linked immediately. I have this hooked up to a 48” on my patio and the sound is excellent with plenty of volume and base. I have a Bose 3000 system in my living room and I expected to be disappointed with the sound difference and I wasn’t, especially considering the price. I did buy the additional warranty for 7$. Overall I am very satisfied.

Do NOT buy if you live in a dense area or apartment building. The unit does nothing to prevent any random person nearby to connect via Bluetooth. I've updated the firmware per Samsung support to no avail. There is no way to turn off Bluetooth to prevent this scenario.Ours is connected via digital input and will randomly switch to Bluetooth while we're watching TV. It's incredibly annoying.

hooked up easy, came with optical audio cable. sounds WAY better than flatscreen speakers. I wouldn't call this a 'theater experience' type of audio equipment, but then it's really not meant to be. Works perfectly if what you want is better sound from your TV without doing the fullblow upgrade to a complete audio system. The bar enhances the audio sound, the little subwoofer adds depth to the sound. A+ from me.
