First Comes Blood (Promised in Blood) Paperback – July 3, 2021

So many damaged characters and so many twists. It definitely keeps you guessing. I fell in love with the main characters. So much angst and trauma to go around. When I put down the book to go to bed, I had it running through my head still and every time I woke up throughout the night! It is a cliffhanger but all the books are out. I highly recommend this read if you love reverse harem with all the mafia types too!

First Comes Blood: A Mafia Reverse Harem is book one in the Promised in Blood series by Lilith Vincent.First off let me say that this a a new to me author so I read the reviews on this book and there we some pretty negative reviews and I almost didn’t read it, but I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did, this book was good. I read it in two days and I am looking forward to the next book.This story is about a young women named Chiara, who on her 17th birthday is told that on her 18th birthday she is going to marry one of the four guests at her dinner party. Before she finds out who she will marry, she witnesses her mother being murdered.The four guests are notorious bad guys and she does not want to get married, she has been pretty sheltered (goes to a Catholic school) and she didn’t put know her Dad was a bad guy.Although the four guys (Vinicius Angeli, Salvatore Fiore, Cassius Ferragamo, and Lorenzo Scava), mess with her mentally and a bit physically, there is no underage intercourse). She was not groomed but there is no doubt that these four guys are interested in her and they let her know it when she turns 18.There is a big mystery arc in this book, so I am keeping that in mind and know that not everything is what it seems. These guys are alpha a-holes and Chiara is a sheltered, naive young women who I’m hoping will get stronger as this series goes on.This book ends on a cliffhanger and has a number of dark, taboo elements. I would recommend this book if you are into that (which I am - lol).

I was hooked from the very beginning!! You have Chiara who’s 17 and the first scene takes places on her 17th birthday dinner. Turns out her dad is trying to marrying her off to one of the four men who he invited to the dinner. Salvatore, Cassius, Lorenzo, and Vinicius. Turns out her father is a corrupted Mayor and poor thing had no idea about her father’s criminal activity. Let me tell you this… is you like dark romance and the most unhinged guys READ THIS BOOK!!!! I will say it’s refreshing reading a why choose book and the guys split up and fighting over the girl.

The mafia harem was great. They were infuriating and tough as nails alpha holes that were absolutely horrible practically until the end of the book. I appreciated that...they are in the mafia so I get it. What I don't get is the FMC. I know she is supposed to be a naive little virgin but for the love of all that is holy did she have to be so freaking annoying?? Ugh, she was soooo indecisive and whiney. I hated her character so much. The guys seem to only like her because she's attractive and young. They would bring up the deaths of their little sisters at times and then mention how they liked the FMC because she was so tiny. Barf. It felt a little to Freudian to me. Does she remind them of their little sisters? It grossed me out.If she wasn't such a weak and worthless character this story could have been so much better. She could have still been a naive virgin with some backbone. I almost DNF this book just because it was so frustrating. The ending was just laughable. I predicted what would happen but was hopeful she would redeem herself from being such a loser. No such luck though. I have no interest in finding out what happens. I'm guessing it will be more complaining from the FMC and her harem of guys continuing to comment about how hot she is. The book just lacked depth and heart. I'm giving it three stars because the guys were well written. I'm going to write an ending in my head where she joins a cult for sniveling idiots and they all move on with someone else.

I enjoyed the characters and the story lines of this story. I would definitely recommend that it is to be read.

I've never read anything by this author before but quite enjoyed this. It's far from predictable, which is great. A bit steamy with a plot that had me grabbing the next right away.

Alright, I went into this book assuming i was going to love it, i didn't! I Freaking ADORED it. Like, dude. Was not expecting my heart to keep getting ripped to shreds and my panties to me in tatters on the floor, but here we are.

MA’AM !!!!! I cannot believe you left me with this cliffhanger !!! When I read your free mini version of this story I went crazy counting down the days until I read the story. You ended the mini version with a cliffy. But now, the ending of this story is definitely left on a cliffhanger and another countdown !!!!Now down to the story ! **** SPOILER ALERT ****This was hands down so far a great start to this mafia story and I can’t wait and see how it develops within the series.Can I just begin by saying I love how Chiara’s character building is slow but developing great out in her circumstances that she was brought up and turned over like cold Turkey without any background on how to act but gets to understand who she is. LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT ! I like how you are still keeping the mother alive although she’s dead. I think that is what is helping Chiara stay sane. I can’t express how much I like how slowly she’s becoming a woman and seeing the world that she truly lives in.As far as for the lovely harem of mafia men 🤤. Yes yes yes. A-holes for sure. I can just picture Lorenzo being the a-hole that falls the deepest for her since he has such a bad exterior / seen in Chiara’s eyes as the psycho but well all know those tend to love the hardest. But I really hope we get to see what Sal’s plan B is and who he was talking too. I have a gut feeling I know who and what it is but I’m anxiously waiting to know.As far as for the father …. I can’t wait to know how it all folds outCounting down until book 2 has already begun. I need me some more !!!!!!

This book kept me intrigued the whole time, I couldn't put it down. Khiara is doing what she can to survive the new world she's been tossed into and having 4 hot and scary men after her.

I was not expecting this!I was so immersed in this story that I’ve read it in one sitting. Her father disgusted me the most and the relationship that the guys had with each other was perfect! They were psycho friends and loyalty was what bond them together.Their background it’s still a little mystery but you can see that’s something that makes them hard.I love it!

This book!!!!! I've been so disappointed so many tine by mafia RH books in the past, but this one I loved. I loved everything about it. The writing. All of the men and the banter and the steam and her voice. Amaaaaaazing. The slow burn and the twisty turning... And that ending. I'm not even mad because I'm jumping straight into the next. Read this! Now!

I love all Lilith’s books, they are all so well written with stories that stop you in your tracks and make you think. This is another such book where we meet our main protagonists in the town of Coldlake for our FMC’s seventeenth birthday celebrations.Must admit that I don’t particularly like any of the guys in this first book, all come across as posturing bullies trying to see who can upset Chiara the most.Her father seems a real sleaze ball who care only for himself and I found myself upset for her all alone, unable to go against any of his nefarious plans for her.I have so many questions after this book and hope that we will gain at least some answers in the next book, what an excellent first book, can’t wait to read the next instalment.

OH.MY.GOODNESS. That was incredible, the beginning was a bit confusing but then it becomes so so so good. I am in love. Honestly, just read it, it is so worth it. The smut is exactly how I like it & the characters are just *mwah*
