My first Amazon Review -GET THIS BOOK - Changing Careers/ Married/40 year old Father of two toddlers
Book = Guiding Compass for all,The Author = Genuinely wants you to succeed, So much that I had trouble and she contacted me directly, More details below!!!This book, and I have hundreds, majority of which I have not gotten around to, is the first book where the author, Lillian takes you by the hand, makes you look at yourself in the mirror and helps you ask what your personality is.She explains every general and detailed aspect of what Data Science implies, statistics, ML, when/what to use what model etc. This is what Chapters 1-5 covers you could say.Her website is loaded with content and HERE IS WHAT IS MOST IMPRESSIVE!After a few days of working this book this last week, I was stuck on Chapter 6, I could not access the site.I took the chance to contact the author directly on LinkedIn, who by the way has ~400,000 followers and an arsenal of experience and credentials. I wrote her asking if the site can be accessed. Lillian messaged me the next day and informed me of a update and a ETA on when it will be competed and took the time to manually go into the system and allow me direct access IN THE MEAN TIME! I have worked in healthcare, tech, automotive, sales, marketing, research etc. I have a natural fortay for customer service because I offer genuine care and support and solutions. So it takes one to know one. Amazonians,YOU HAVE A BOOK WRITTEN BY AN AUTHOR WHO CARES FOR YOU AND GENUINELY, GENUINELY WANTS YOU TO FIGURE WHERE YOU BELONG AND OFFERS EVERY RESOURCES SHE HAS TO GET YOU THERE. I have proof of this within the last 24 hours. I have never written a Amazon Review and am honored that this is my first.Who cares what I have to say?So I have been in various roles of data analysis. I completed my Masters/Thesis in Sociology/Statistics back in 2018. Life occurs and was difficult for me to stay single track minded as many of us can relate. Things recently have allowed me to get serious about figuring out what I am naturally good at versus trying to force my personality for a job description. Again someone many of us can relate to, if not YOU ARE LYING TO YOURSELF! So with that said, I promise this is not a Tony Robbins mantra. Google Data Scientist and overload with "THE NUMBER ONE SITE TO _____ DATA SCIENCE" ... It is overwhelming and not helpful. Use this as your epicenter, you won't get misled, you won't get lost. Lillian won't let you.

A great book for business leaders who want to know the scoop about this data science thing
I used the original book in 2017 to develop an understanding of the field and being featured it (Bottom of page 345) is like coming full circle again. What I love most about the book is the focus on applications of data science to real world problems. In bootcamps we learn a lot about the tools, techniques, algorithms, etc...but not a whole lot about how to actually apply this in the real world. This book also goes beyond that with teaching you how to develop your business acumen, tell stories with data, best practices for visualization, and more.I definitely recommend this book if you're a business leader wanting to learn more about the methodologies data scientists use, or a data scientist looking to bridge the gap between what they've learned in school/bootcamps and the real world!

Data Science for Dummies is the most comprehensive book on data science. Period.
Data Science for Dummies is the most comprehensive data book I’ve ever read. Leaving no stone unturned, this book provides an in-depth tour of all facets of working in data including big data, statistics, algorithms, business cases, and the different types of data workers. This book provides a thorough understanding of every area data touches. I learned many new things - and I highly recommend it to anyone who works with data (even if they're not a data scientist) or to anyone simply interested in having a broader understanding of the entire field.

Above and beyond
My favorite chapter in the book is - monetizing data and data science expertise. Lillian does a great job at teaching the audience about the methods of turning your data and experience into an income. The books is very comprehensive and I recommend it for anyone looking to improve their business with data.

Tells you a lot teaches you nothing
PROS: Provides the definitions and verbiage of every aspect of Data Science and its related cousins (AI/Machine learning and Data engineering). It tells you what programming/software tools, mathematical/statistical tools, and concepts are used. These are narrated in a very highly superficial, generalized, and diluted manner. At the end of the book you will find out what Data Scientists use/need, but you will not know how they are used and will have learned nothing. Might be useful if you are a manager type and you yourself are not going to do any actual Data Science
