Can this product be applied to grass lawn using a Broadcast spreader?

I don't believe so! Used mostly in greenhouses. Add it to water.

Does this have to be mixed with water before applying or can you just sprinkle some around the base of the plant?

I used it in a hydroponics setup so of course it was dissolved in water. I don't see why you could not sprinkle a very thin layer on the surface or mix into the soil. I am just not sure why you would want to use a water soluble fertilizer in that manner. The directions on mixing are based on ratios of fertilizer to water. But give it a try. What can you lose.

No, it appears the cost would be prohibitive - since you aplly this stuff every 7 to 14 days and 1 pound covers about 400 square feet - to cover one acre (approx. 43,500 feet) would then take about 100# every 7 to 14 days.
