Nice but a tad bit short...
Review for: Lucky Line 5β Twisty Lock Key Ring, Flexible Nylon Coated Steel Wire Loop...From the reviews people are having a time opening and closing the key-ring but it's nice once I got the hang of it.Bit of Advice/Help: For all having a hard/trying time to operate it.. "Practice." Not kidding. The more I opened(unlocked) and closed(locked) it, I better to understood how it operated. You get like 5 of them, select one and practice away on it. Found it works best if you don't struggle with or use force. Just keep twisting until it comes open and keep twisting until it pops close.CONS:Short. It could be longer, which is why the 4 stars. Be great if it were 5-10mm more in length

Wish it was smaller but this is the best locking mechanism for this kind of key ring
I'm a minimalist and was tired of the traditional key ring as it is made of metal and is thus inflexible and feels annoying in my pocket. I only carry a car key, house key, bike lock key, and a gym membership tag -- the minimum amount of keys! So I was looking for something flexible and small but also secure. I like the locking mechanism on these, having to twist the ring into a figure 8 shape to open/close the lock is pretty cool. I gave it a few hard tugs to see if it would come undone if snagged -- nope. I think it would be a rare if implausible chance that the ring would accidentally form a figure 8 in your bag or pocket. My only complaint is that the overall diameter is larger than I would need for my minimal amount of keys. There are some 4" in length rings on Amazon but those have a clearly inferior locking mechanism (the screw on type would definitely, over time, come loose and your keys would fall everywhere). I think that if this particular ring was shorter folks would have a difficult time forming the figure 8 to open/close the lock so 5" must be the minimum length. Good product, probably the best minimalist key ring out there!

Great little keychain (or rings for holding documents)
These are great little keychains for both holding your keys or making checklist binders. I use them for both purposes. There are a couple of versions of this product on the market. This product requires that you twist the keyring into a figure-8 pattern to open. This makes the ring more secure, but slightly harder to open than the version that just requires you bend it at the joint.I hope you find this review helpful.

Been using these for over 25 years
I have used these keyrings for over 25 years and find them easy to use and very long-lasting.I was a licensed locksmith in a former life and sold many hundreds of these "Twisty" key rings. Some folks had a hard time unlocking them but after they got the hang of using them they always came back for more, my last one lasted over 15 years before it started to unlock by itself. A definite 5 stars.

Hard to Open; Easy to Close
Frustrating the first time. I almost gave up. Don't. It is worth it.
